Mango Juice Recipe

There are descriptions of food that make your mouth water just from the words, and mango juice is one of those. A family friend once raved about a homemade mango juice he remembered fondly, calling it “veryyyy nice!” His enthusiasm stuck with me and sparked a long-standing craving.

I imagined that juice as fresh, creamy and intensely mango-flavored. So when Mr. N brought home a bunch of ripe mangoes yesterday, making mango juice was all I could think about.

Homemade Mango Juice

I made it—and I have to agree: this one is “veryyyyy nice.” I finished a glass and felt instantly lighter and happier. Like my Pineapple Ginger Juice, this mango juice needs no extra sugar because ripe mangoes bring plenty of natural sweetness. The result is fruity, creamy and simply delicious.

Mango Juice Benefits

Mangoes are packed with vitamin C, beta-carotene, potassium, iron and other valuable nutrients. They support the immune system, promote healthy skin and eyes, help maintain healthy blood pressure and contribute to bone strength. Loaded with antioxidants, mangoes may help reduce inflammation and support overall health. Including mango juice as part of a balanced diet is a tasty way to enjoy these nutritional benefits.

How to Make Mango Juice

Peel and chop ripe mangoes into pieces.

Place the mango pieces in a blender with ice and some water.

Blend until smooth. If the mangoes are fibrous, strain the mixture through a fine sieve to remove fibers; if they blend smoothly, simply pour and serve. Adjust the water to reach your preferred consistency.

I didn’t need to sieve mine because the blend was already smooth. Serve immediately over ice for the freshest taste.

  • 4 cups diced mangoes
  • 2 cups water

Notes

1. I got 4 cups of mango from three large mangoes; this may vary by mango size and variety.

3. For a bright citrus note, add a splash of freshly squeezed orange juice before blending.
