The Transformative Power of Saying Thank You

He entered a village where ten men stood together, their bodies marked by an unpleasant and contagious skin disease. Their skin was roughened and scarred, a visible sign of long suffering. United by pain and hope, they had likely heard of His healing power. Though their voices may not have been melodious, they called out to the Great Healer, asking to be cleansed.

He answered their plea and healed them all. Yet only one of the ten returned to give thanks. That single grateful man fell prostrate at His feet, and Jesus took note of the others’ absence. All ten had received the same blessing, but only the one who returned was acknowledged when Jesus said, “Your faith has made you whole.”
The account in Luke 17 teaches us that while many may receive blessings, it is a thankful heart that completes and honors those gifts. How often do we pause to thank God and the people who have helped us along the way? How often do we return to express appreciation to those who made a difference? It is easy to resume life as if nothing happened, yet gratitude transforms an ordinary gift into something that brings fullness and recognition.
Make thanksgiving a habit by using simple, sincere expressions. Here are a few phrases you can use often:
– Thank you.
– Thank you so much.
– You have been so good to me. Thank you!
– I don’t know what I would have done without you. Thank you.
– You are amazing. Thanks.
There can never be too many “thank yous.” Let gratitude be a regular part of your speech and your life. A thankful heart not only acknowledges blessings but deepens them, making both giver and recipient feel seen and valued.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend filled with moments of gratitude and joy.
