Thank you for stopping by to read. Your clicks and support mean a lot and encourage me to share snippets of life. This week passed quickly, and I’m grateful for the progress I made navigating ordinary challenges and blessings. I started a Bible study with a group at my friend’s church and I’m glad to have made that commitment. I got lost on an outing when my GPS stopped working, attended a ladies’ program at church, and have been reheating meals on the stove because my microwave broke.
Here’s the scoop:
I’ve always wanted to be part of a Bible study that helps me grow in my faith. This week I called a friend to ask about the study at her church. It sounded inviting, so I joined them on Tuesday to study God’s Word. The meeting was encouraging, and I’m looking forward to the next sessions and the chance to deepen my spiritual walk.
On Wednesday I ran errands with all three girls. After the last stop, my phone’s maps app lost its connection. I’d been relying on it to navigate home. I tried to retrace my steps but ended up in a part of town I’d only seen online. It felt overwhelming for a moment. I eventually stopped at a gas station, asked for directions, and managed to get back. Walking through my front door never felt so relieving.
Thursday night at church we had a women’s gathering called “The Table.” It was an organized space for women to meet, share testimony, and encourage one another. I appreciate how thoughtfully these events are put together here. Hearing other women speak about their journeys with the Lord was uplifting. I’m thankful to my friend Jeena, who watched the girls so I could attend and be nourished by the evening.
Meanwhile, my microwave has been out of order for a while, and it’s been annoying to heat meals on the stove. I spent years without a microwave and even longer without a fireplace, so I know I can adapt. Still, I miss the small conveniences—like making microwave “puff” corn for late-night snacks when the house is quiet. It’s a simple pleasure I’m looking forward to enjoying again once the microwave is fixed or replaced.
On Sunday at church we learned about what the speaker called “the elephant of entitlement.” The message warned against assuming we deserve what we have and emphasized gratitude for every blessing. We were reminded that even the air we breathe is a gift and that cultivating thankfulness is essential. The talk challenged us to distinguish between wants and needs—an honest and sometimes difficult reflection.
That’s the update for now. I’m thankful for the chance to grow spiritually, for friends who help with the kids, and for small moments of gratitude despite everyday frustrations. Until next time, thanks again for reading and for being part of this journey.
