Two weeks ago I shared three of my favorite smoothie recipes. I’m serious about smoothies—selecting the right ingredients is one of my favorite pastimes. So when I received a bottle of Welch’s 100% grape juice, I knew I had to make something purple and delicious. The grape juice added a vibrant color and flavor that exceeded my expectations. With four simple ingredients I blended a creamy, flavorful purple smoothie that’s perfect for breakfast or a snack.
The color purple is often linked with heart-healthy foods. Many purple and blue fruits and vegetables contain compounds that support cardiovascular health—think eggplant, purple cabbage, blueberries and concord grapes.
Welch’s 100% concord grape juice provides a convenient way to add that purple power to your diet without added sugar. Use it on its own or combine it with a few other ingredients to make this simple power purple smoothie.
Here’s what you need for the smoothie:

Frozen banana, frozen blueberries, plain Greek yogurt and 100% grape juice. That’s it.
Combine the blueberries, banana and yogurt in a blender, add the grape juice, and blend until smooth and creamy.

Five reasons I love this 4-ingredient purple smoothie:
- It’s beautifully purple—fun and visually appealing.
- It tastes amazing: creamy, naturally sweet and full of yogurt goodness.
- Blueberries are antioxidant-rich and help protect the body from damage caused by free radicals.
- It supports heart health—100% concord grape juice contains polyphenols that can contribute to cardiovascular wellness.
- It’s fast and effortless: just add everything to the blender and blend.
I use a reliable blender that handles frozen fruit well; a sturdy model like a Ninja has been a keeper for me. I only recommend products I truly love.
Welch’s provided a coupon to try their concord grape juice—grab it if you’d like to try this smoothie with their juice.
Enjoy, friends!
