Casual Italian dining & a big wine list. Salumi, pizza, pasta & other Italian fare plus cocktails & a large wine list in a relaxed setting.
After a very turbulent flight from Miami, it was great to get to Chicago and have this restaurant nearby, very well located, easy access. We did not have a reservation but the staff only gave us a table, the waiter was very friendly, talkative and with an excellent spirit of serving. The restaurant has a unique atmosphere, very cool. If you are meat lovers like me, I recommend the New York, it is a delight to the palate. The entries are very well made. Nothing bad to say about this site. Everything was great. Visit it.
A great candle lit dinner experience. Our waitress was very kind, attentive, and had great suggestions! We had their risotto special, steak, tart, and cheese board. Each meal was fantastic, savory, and a great way to end a day exploring the city!
Came for restaurant week lunch and loved it! Really cute vibe and great deal. I started with the onion soup which was delicious — cheese and bread were so good and was very heavy on the onions. For my main dish I got the mushroom tagliatelle which had really nice flavor and wasn’t heavy. Portions looked small but we’re actually filling. I also tasted the short rib pasta and that was good too! The chocolate dessert was huge and a little overly salty IMO — I like my food on the salty side but literally every component of it including the ice cream was heavily salted and it was a little overwhelming. The tiramisu looked standard. Overall it was really good and liked the vibe!
We were there two weeks ago on Memorial Day, the food is great, atmosphere is awesome with great ambience music. Our waiter is very professional and nice to us. Probably the Bruschetta and Tiramisu are my favorite there. :) will come back again.
We stopped in Acanto to grab lunch during restaurant week. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to squeeze us in which was appreciated. The food was delicious and great portion sizes. We ended our meal with phenomenal espresso with our desserts. The restaurant is extremely crowded, especially the table area where we sat but it surprisingly wasn’t as loud as I anticipated. We will for sure be back on our next Chicago visit!
The service, food and drinks were good. We ordered Tuscan Potatoes and Lobster Pacvheri.Highly recommend to make prior reservations on weekend evenings. Located centrally opposite to Millennium Park and a couple of blocks down the “Mag Mile”.
A friend recommended this restaurant purely based on their Panna cotta dessert. I was happy to discovered that the rest of the menu is SUBLIME!! The frito Misto apperizer was unbelievable! We has the arancini - fried rice balls - that were the best I have ever had. I will come back to Acanto just for that dish!! I had the Rigatoni that was delicious and my dining companion had the veal Milanese. We, of course, ended our meal by ordering the Panna Cotta. It was, as my friend described, one of the best desserts I have ever eaten. The hostess was very engaging and friendly as well as the rest of the waiting staff. Highly recommend! If this is your first visit to Chicago this restaurant is a must if you love Italian food. It is right across Millenium Park and not fat from the Magnificent Mile. Reservations are a must as those in the know come here often!
Great place! My friend and I were looking for a place to have some lunch after a Cubs game and while looking for Italian restaurants in Google this place appeared. The whole meal was great, I had a pasta and my friend had the beef filet perfectly cooked. Definitely a good place to have some lunch while visiting Chicago.
