My daughter and I made many memories in this beautiful store! Coming to AGP it’s a wonderful experience. It’s was so much fun to walk around the two story store. Great mommy & daughter date. I personally think it’s a must if you have a daughter or for your inner little girl! All the employees were very friendly and helpful with all our questions. Every doll is very unique and beautiful. Would definitely recommend to get your daughter and dolls hair done and try the cafe!
My 5 yo daughter LOVED our trip here. Her AG doll got hair do ,and nails done. Her stylist, went above and beyond, entertaining my daughter grandmas, and me while beautifying the dolls. She really was the best. My daughter pushed Bitty around the store in a pram, played in the playhouses. It was awesome to see such a great service, The manager of the store made our experience 10x better. She’s a real life doll. She made sure we got everything we needed. She’s so polite, kind, and helpful. She’s the one in the picture below. Great mommy and daughter date. I really recommend this place. The cafe was perfect for lunch. The doll had a high chair at the table and got plates and cups to bring home. Our server was knowledgeable about everything on the menu. There was a nice variety of food and the 5 people in my party were satisfied.
Going to the American Girl Place Chicago was a childhood dream come true. I enjoyed seeing the hero’s through history (although some of the dolls from the 90s have had an outfit “upgrade”). It was incredible to see dolls staged throughout - including many illustrating dolls with a disability or using a mobility aid. I saw people of all ages enjoying the exhibits and shopping, and there was an exhibit for toddlers to interact with the bitty babies.
Overall the product is of high quality but very high priced. Not sure it is worth the cost. There seems to be a real social justice / woke advocacy being built into the store and product. The building is interesting and worth a visit even if you are not in the market for a high price doll. They have clearly put a lot of effort into the experience for shoppers (both girls and their parents or grand parents). Not sure it is worth a visit. There are many other great store along the Mag Mile while visiting Chicago. It was good for a short quick visit but probably not worth coming back again.
We went here for a surprise birthday for our daughter. It was a great day. Just be sure to pay attention, more to follow on that in a minute. This store was huge. We went through most of the bottom floor and then realized we needed to find out where the cafe was because we had our birthday party booked at a certain time. It was not until then that we realized there was a second floor. HUGE! On the second floor there is the cafe. There's also a little coffee shop or snack shop. There's a hair salon where both your daughter and her doll can get their hair done. There is an ear piercing place in case the doll wants to get her ears pierced. There is a doll hospital. There is a whole section for WellieWisher dolls. And there is another section for bitty babies. And for all the guys that have to go to the store, Don't worry, there is a Lego store right outside the door of the second floor. The birthday party was really wonderful. But I don't know if our waitress was new or just didn't pay attention to details. With the birthday package. We were supposed to get a crown for the doll and for our daughter. Neither one were brought out. Also, every child at the birthday party is supposed to get a gift party bag, (Which you pay extra for), one of our guests was not given gift bag. I had to ask for it. Also included in the price is cake and ice cream. The cake was brought out but no ice cream until I asked for it. So just make sure you pay attention and get everything you pay for. Other than that the food was wonderful. We had a burger (not pictured), a club sandwich, chicken fingers, mac and cheese, and salmon with couscous. We also had warm cinnamon rolls brought out as an appetizer and a whole appetizer tower. It had mini yogurt parfaits, pretzels and mustard dip, spinach artichoke dip with pitas. It was definitely an exciting trip! Once in a lifetime and a great memory for all of us.
Thus place is the ultimate girly girl place! From the food to decor this place is a 10 all around! Our granddaughter had a blast celebrating her birthday there as did we. Make this your go to place to celebrate your princess party.
Wow! What an experience for an AGD enthusiast. We have never seen an AG store this humongous! There were two levels with a hospital, hair/nail salon, cafe, bistro, ear piercing place, and much more. It was very overwhelming and a stimulation overload, but the kiddos enjoyed exploring everything. There were so many accessories, dolls, books, pets, etc. to check out! So much more than any other store. The cafe food left a lot to be desired, but I guess for $25/ea. you pay for what you get. Overall, that is overlooked considering the experience as a whole.
Never to old to visit the AG store. They are nice to boys too! Dolls are 100 bucks however they are well made compared to other dolls like "generations" at target. I'd buy the generations foods and outfits bc they fit the American girl dolls perfectly and save a little dollar. We did not eat at the Cafe but I know people who have and they had fun. We did visit the doll salon and get our dolls hair done :) cute experience. The bathrooms are so fun they have "doll holders" This storw is located in the water place tower.
