I walked in and was sorta greeted, then seated. I sat for about five minutes awaiting a menu but then realized the process was by QR code ( wasn’t given that instruction or directive). Then after about 10 minutes and after putting in my online order, the host comes and ask if I need a menu am I alright; seriously? The food I ordered came out promptly. The samosas were tasty for $10.00. Price point doesn’t matter if the food and service is good. I think they need help with how they seat guest. I did notice a group that later came in were seated and a waiter took their order by the same girl that saw me come in. If I was familiar with Indian cuisine and what I wanted this was a bad first impression. This was my first time here.. not sure I’ll return or recommend. If short staff that’s one thing but to ignore a customer is poor hospitality; this is coming from a hospitality major and one who works in the industry to support businesses. Finally comes my entree; presentation was flat. Oh yeah, I was table # 20 It was tasty.
Great food great vibes! Went here when visiting a friend in Philly on another friends recommendation, turned out to be one of the best south indian restaurants I visited outside in the states. Will definitely recommend the filter coffee was little cold for me but overall a great experience.
After trying two other places that happened to be closed, my family of four staggered in the door looking for sustenance. We were pleased to find much more! The space is well decorated and cozy, the brick walls offer classic Philadelphia flair while aromas emanating from the kitchen promised much more. We had some trouble using the online ordering platform, but the waiter (who I believe was also a manager of some sort) happily took our order by hand. He recommended we try the Gobi Manchurian, and no one in my family has been able to shut up about it since. We tried the Non-Veg Couples Platter and some sort of delicious rice dish, and were pleased to try such a variety of South Indian cuisine. I would highly recommend this restaurant!
I don’t even know where to begin. Everything about this restaurant was spectacular. The food and the service was a 10/10 for me and my friends. We absolutely loved it. The food was so fresh and delicious. All the curries were SO good. The mango lassi was also so refreshing and I recommend ordering. Food also came so quickly! The people that worked there were so friendly and kind! Our waiter was very informative on South Indian culture and he kindly informed us about the differences seen in curries across different regions of India. I also loved the convenience of ordering straight from your phone and the staff was super up to date with it. We can’t wait to come back again. This is hands down my favorite Desi restaurant in the area and the best I’ve ever had.
Food 8/10 I usually never have Indian cuisine, so I was feeling quite excited when I ordered the huge lamb dosa. It didn’t feel that heavy, but I completely demolished the entire dish. It was both chewy and soft, yet crispy on the edges. The inside was stuffed with lamb, and it came with a lot of different dips to try out. I didn’t know where to start but I loved experimenting with the different dips and getting a flavor explosion. Atmosphere 8/10 A lot of seats, casual restaurant, was surprisingly popular on a weekday evening. Service 10/10 We ordered on our mobile phones, and the dishes came at such a fast speed I was really surprised. Everything was steamy hot and fresh. Not a lot of interaction with the waiter, so it’s a very covid safe sort of experience, as we also pay through our phone. Paying directly was also an option.
Must visit! Food is superb. Delivery is quite quick. Staff is good. Only thing is this place almost always crowded so be prepared for a wait time. Also you might face parking issues but that’s not the restaurant’s fault. You can order and make your payment through the QR Code placed on every table. We ordered Punugulu, Cut mirchi & Masala Gongura Dosa. Only thing that disappointed me a little was that they served coconut chutney with Cut mirchi which is unusual. It should be served with green chutney. Rest everything was good.
Amazing South Indian food in the heart of center city! It's the only place I've seen so far that offers Southern India specific style dishes and I highly recommend them. They do it so right. I was here several times for both lunch and dinner precovid. This time coming back, I noticed there were some different menu item changes and was super excited to see thali options where I can sample different dishes all at once. I got the Non-veg South Indian Thali and it did not disappoint. The portions were very generous and I enjoyed every single one of them. Usually I am not a fan of khee but they do it differently here and I fell in love. I see why this place is always so packed. Food is always on point! The newly added no contact ordering and payment system is also easy to use and a huge plus!
Good south indian food choice. Fried fish was excellent. The tape on mango and masala lassi cups spoiled the experience. Customer service can improve. They should have Halal certificate on display and printed on menu.
