Airy, stylish New American dining. Sophisticated eatery presenting contemporary American dinners & weekend brunches.
Amazing! I can't say enough about this experience. Staff is exceptional, food ... Holy cow it's incredible! Finishing off the night with an amazing coffee too. Have never been here before but when I'm back in town I will definitely be back. Big shout out to our server, Sandra, as well. Impeccable ❤️ thank you so much for a beautiful evening. Wishing you all the best!
We were looking for a romantic date spot in downtown PHX and heard about Anhelo. You will notice when you walk in that this restaurant has a very classy and elegant ambience with an open kitchen concept and beautiful bar design. When you sit down at your table, you will notice a folded envelope on your plate which is your menu that often features new dishes. The service here is fantastic and they check in on you frequently to make sure you're taken care of. For appetizer, we ordered the Spanish Octopus which was very flavorful. For entrees, we ordered the Scallops which were delicious but we came here for the signature meal which is the Beef Wellington. Personally, the Beef Wellington is one of the most unique dishes I've had in a while at an upscale restaurant and this is an absolute MUST try entrée. Overall, if you want a romantic fine dining experience then this is the best upscale restaurant in downtown Phoenix to try. We will definitely be coming back here again!
I usually do my fine dining in Scottsdale, but one of my goals this year was to try more restaurants in Phoenix. Anhelo was on my list of the top places to try. To start off, commutation was spot on from the second I set the reservation. They called me and asked if I was taking Uber or driving in and gave me advice on how to best get there. Service was amazing. Very friendly and knowledgeable. We were always checked on and food came out in a timely manner. Started off with a couple cocktails which were great, and the Crudo and Ricotta Dumplings. The dumplings were quite tasty but the crudo was something real special. Probably the best I’ve had. The chef even gave us complimentary caviar which was unexpected, but highly appreciated. Although it was only myself and my fiancé, we had to get 3 entrees to give ourselves a bit of a tasting menu since it all sounded so good. We went with the Agnolotti, Beef Wellington, and the Scallops. All were absolutely delicious! Usually, I would always favor a steak dish, but in this case, the Agnolotti took the cake. To end our night, we asked what dessert would travel well since we were too full to enjoy it during our stay. The chocolate mousse was recommended and so that’s what we did. I’m wiring this review before indulging in it, but I’m not too worried given the rest of our experience. I can’t recommend Anhelo enough. We thoroughly enjoyed the intimate environment and experience. We will definitely be back.
Everything about this place was amazing.. the food, the service and the ambiance. Beef wellington was perfect!, scallops were so fresh and delicate...great flavor! they start you off with a complimentary splash of champagne which I thought was a sweet touch. Drinks are quality too. Will definitely be coming back. Try their apple tart!
We went to see Andrea Bocelli and had dinner here before the concert. Nice because it’s walking distance from the footprints stadium. It happened to be there Grand opening. Great service and great food! We enjoyed the scallops and the cauliflower.
This was such a beautiful dining experience. The attention to detail with the service, food, wine pairings it is evident that Anehlo is aptly named. We felt everyone from the hostess, wait staff, somelier and chef had that desire to provide us with an exceptional experience. Of our choices, the beets & yogurt, crudo, ricotta dumplings, octopus and waygu short rib were our favorites. The wine pairings were perfect, the chocolate mousse was delightful. The entire staff was attentive, personable and friendly, joking with us and not stuffy at all. A follow up call from the manager was a very special touch. The atmosphere is elegant, minimalist and intimate. A real gem in Downtown Phoenix, we will be back.
Anhehlo is not just a restaurant. It’s an incredible experience! My husband and I have traveled the world, having been to 26 counties and numerous Michelin restaurants and we can say without zero hesitation that what chef Ivan and team have put together is nothing short of amazing! This is hands down the BEST FINE DINING experience in Phoenix/Scottsdale. Chef Ivan combines impeccable taste with an upscale downtown vibe that is elegant and intimate. The perfect ambiance as you navigate your way through the delicious masterpieces he creates. Ever dish seriously blew us away! The service was top tier and everything was incredibly detailed right down the burgundy wax sealed menus and rose shaped butter. The wine list curated by Ryan was simply spectacular! One glance and you realize it has been carefully selected to be out of the ordinary and provide a next level experience. Finally!!! ANHELO is exactly what the valley has been missing. A wonderful experience through and through.
Great dining experience, solid food executed very well but overall no showstoppers that quite justifies the price. We had a short business trip to Phoenix and we wanted to try one of their higher rated places. We got the tasting menu and a bottle of wine instead of the pairings. I confused Roger Perrin with Famille Perrin but overall it was an enjoyable bottle. Though nothing was particularly spectacular, every dish was executed well. The starter with the steak tartare on a meaty west coast oyster was surprisingly a great combination although perhaps would have been enhanced had the oyster been chopped up a bit to mix with the tartare instead of just resting at the bottom. The mushroom risotto, pan seared scallops, and the trout were all cooked perfectly but overall forgettable- nothing spectacular about these flavours or the accompany purées stands out in my memory after the fact. The duck was more interesting in that it had a nice, sweetened crust that balanced out the saltiness and fat but was a bit under-seasoned. The real star of the entire course was the beef Wellington- a dish you don’t see very often these days- it was perfectly cooked- both the puff pastry and the tenderloin itself, and the jus had exactly the right amount of flavour and seasoning. I only wish the portion size were a bit larger for this one. The dessert was also something more memorable- a deconstructed pumpkin cheesecake resting on a powdered graham cracker crust with pumpkin seeds and drizzled with caramel- very nice presentation and very tasty. The service was impeccable. The waitresses and sommelier were all very friendly, highly knowledgeable, and a joy to chat with. For others, I would probably recommend skipping the tasting menu and ordering some of these dishes including the Wellington and oysters a la carte so as to skip some of the more forgettable offerings.
