Rustic Italian cuisine in a cozy venue. Seasonal, rustic Italian fare & a companion wine list served in a cozy setting with outdoor patio.
I ordered the special meatloaf and it was AMAZING. Portions seem small but are very filling and the seasoning and cook on everything was immaculate! The waiter was super nice & was very attentive. Potatoes tasted great, but it was a cold salad and took us by surprise. It's meant to be cold, I'm just a picky eater ? Would definitely recommend!! Cute date night spot ❤️
Grilled Octopus & Trout. Beautiful ambiance and excellent wait staff. It took some time for my food to come but it was absolutely worth the wait for a fresh hot meal. I hate getting food thats been sitting under a heat-lamp for 30 mins at fine dining establishments. Also before adding additional seasoning to your meal, taste it first! This is true Italian cuisine hence true Italian flavors/seasoning. #delicious Great place for a nice family dining experience or a lovely date night with someone or solo.
Solid neighborhood spot for tasty food. Big wine list. Went on a Saturday and every table was filled. Made reservations and we walked in and were seated immediately. What's not to like about fresh pasta? Our waitress Stacy was attentive on a crowded night and managed to light a bday candle for a friend's bday dessert. Look forward to checking out the patio. Beautiful place with friendly staff. But the food is not good at all. I ordered the grilled octopus and orecchiette pasta. The octopus’s portion is small and mostly taste like soaked in vinegar. The orecchiette pasta is too salty and not delicious.
Sat on the heated patio and it was very comfortable! The food was incredible, as always. There's a reason you always need reservations here... it's top shelf food and service. You’ll struggle mightily to find better Italian food.
Lovely menu and staff! much quieter out back in the patio than any part of Calo's across the street. Both are great. Anteprima's menu is a more contemporary and the meal we shared was delightful. Thanks to your awesome staff
Best food in the city would go back and have been back many times Marty and staff are priceless to us we recommend this place more than any other in the city are Chicago thank God they made it through the pandemic and that we still can go They're right down the street for us I have to say it's convenient but it's like having family
An average rating for an average place. It's very reminiscent of an authentic Italian place. The atmosphere is cozy but a bit cramped for something in the city. The food was one of two extremes: salty or flavorless. If someone were to recommend this place, I wouldn't be excited to go back, but for the price, like the saying goes, "You get what you pay for." For a tasting menu for $32, you get either: appetizer, main and dessert or appetizer, half pasta and main. Can't complain about the pricing. The beef carpaccio was pretty bland. The "broccolini" was alright, had a nice alternation in flavor and texture. The octopus wasn't as "wow" as other people have reviewed/raved about. The cacio e pepe was mediocre, at best. The couscous with the shrimp was overly salted.
