Classic Greek fare with skyline views. Traditional Greek food in a spacious setting featuring an outdoor patio with sweeping city views.
One of my favorite restaurants in the city! Their saganaki is the best and I really enjoyed their lamb chops. Wide selection of Greek wines, dips, plates, and their baklava was amazing for dessert. My favorite part is the outdoor patio space, it transports you to Greece! Highly recommend.
Loved the ambience and decor of this Greek restaurant. Friendly service and convenient location in the West Loop. For lunch, I ordered SPANAKOPITAKIA and Braised Lamb. The lamb was just okay to be honest. I didn’t care for the tomato sauce much. Although the lamb was very tender, it didn’t have much flavor. Overall I enjoyed my experience. Perhaps I’ll try the lamb chops next time to see if that’s better.
The fried eggplant app is amazing! Get it! Served fresh & hot. So were the Greek fries - fried to perfection & so good w the feta cheese. Excellent service from tolos. Taking off one star because my main dish, the Greek combo plate was served lukewarm.
My husband reserved a table for Valentine’s Day and I was taken with the ambiance and layout of the restaurant. I ordered the pork kabob and a sweet wine. My husband ordered the stuffed feta chicken that was topped with mozzarella, and the moscato. Both meals were very filling and decent in price. In another area there’s more tables for lots of seating and a full bar. They also have a nice patio area I noticed that’s closed for the season, but I’m definitely planning on returning for a few more wonderful evenings while enjoying their free 2 hour valet!
Food was good, and the service I felt was nice too. They come around frequently and ask if there’s anything they can do. Lamb chops weren’t my favorite for the price. Best Saganaki I’ve had though!
We visited during Greek Fest Chicago. Even then, the line to enter moved fast. We got in with a 20 min wait vs other places that were 90 min. The food was good and ample. We all ended up with about half boxed up to go. The atmosphere was nice. We sat in the patio with retracted storefronts. A nice Mediterranean vibe. We would go again.
A Greek restaurant in Greek town that transports you to Greece. Athena is dreamy, it’s vibes are breezy with one of the best patios this city has seen. And the food is scratch made deliciousness! That saganaki and baklava! Get the veggie moussaka! Indulge in their Greek wines list! And great for families too!
Athena was recommended as the place to go in Chicago’s Greektown, and it did not disappoint. The atmosphere and overall vibe were outstanding. It’s a big place with great energy without being too loud or over the top. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable, helping us pick a wine that went well with our food choices. Everything was delicious. The lemon chicken soup was wonderful. You can’t skip the saganaki! The flaming cheese is so good and just part of the experience. It goes well with all the pita and dips too. For mains, we had the gyro platter and Greek salad with chicken. It was all so good! We had a fantastic date night and would recommend Athena to anyone.
