avec Restaurant

It's been a long time since I've been to avec so it was wonderful getting to go again this month. The food is as delicious as ever and I really love the atmosphere of the space. The service is wonderful too. I adore their hummus & pita, and they served us a mushroom flatbread that was divine. Everyone loves the bacon wrapped dates but they are a bit spicy for me. Still, I don't think you can miss trying them if you come. Drinks were lovely too.

Absolutely delicious! Bacon wrapped dates were a must get! All the dishes turned out yummy and were great for sharing. Nice selection of wine to pair with the proteins. Food in photos fed 3 hungry people to the brim. Our party sat at a table on the second floor, which I highly recommend if you want a private table in a quieter space.

Been to Avec for dinner but first time for brunch. So happy to give it a try. Their brunch food was delicious! It was nice that they also had some half portions on certain items so we ordered a variety of food. The service was also fantastic. We sat at the counter and had the best conversation with the host and our server. Can’t wait to go back again!

A beautiful and warm dining room cladded floor to ceiling in wood, with an exposition kitchen so you can see how fresh and carefully composed your food is. The communal dining (first floor is all big tables or bar top) was somewhat new and interesting but did not detract from our experience. Apparently the second floor dining room is not communal but then you would miss out on the kitchen and general first floor bustle. The food is all excellently soothing while still feeling healthy since many dishes are balanced with veggies and grains. The service was phenomenal from the moment we entered. We were well taken care of by the server and one of the managers stopped by to say hello with a complimentary nibble of cheese. When it came time to pay I was pleasantly surprised by the ratio of bang for buck (~$60 per person with a couple glasses of wine and some leftovers).

Would give it 6 stars if I could. A flawless experience with exceptional food, impeccable service, and great vibe in a great space. Food was really some of the best I’ve had - it is remarkably difficult to put together dishes with such elegance, flavour and complexity in a way that seems so effortless and makes the food seem so approachable. Shout out to Damien for taking care of us so nicely.

My friend and I ordered their grilled market fish, focaccia, and a shrimp and another fish dish. Was a completely fulfilling meal. The grilled market fish with feta cheese and preserved banana peppers is probably the best fish I had so far. Absolute treat to taste buds. Should definitely try out the place when you are in downtown. The waiter guided us well in picking dishes for our palette.

The drinks were good, but the food was amazing. The chorizo-stuffed dates might be one of the best things I've had all year. Their wine list was very interesting, and I wish I had more time to explore it. I love the communal tables and the atmosphere as a whole. I will definitely be returning to explore more of their menu as soon as possible!

Avec was an amazing experience. We loved our waitress as well as Steven. The food was amazing. Everything really hit the spot. The chorizo stuffed dates were insane. The oysters were absolutely delightful. We loved the prawns. The sauce was to die for. And the take of the Persian lamb dish was also great. We somehow forgot to take a photo of the oysters but they were stunning. All the people who worked there were so nice and really made the experience that much more enjoyable!
