Chic, bi-level Italian spot with a patio. Regional Italian fare & drinks served in a stylish, 2-story space with a patio & a buzzy bar.
Such a cute restaurant in Fulton Market! Everything about it, from the food to the service to the atmosphere is fantastic! We went on a Sunday so it wasn't too busy and we got a nice booth to sit in. The service was great and the staff is super friendly! The pasta is absolutely amazing, and you can tell it's freshly made (the gnocchi at least). I would definitely go again!
Been a couple times now and it’s been a fine but unspectacular experience. I think this place is okay for a safe work lunch but definitely wouldn’t go out of my way to come back. I’ve enjoyed some of the river north Italian spots much more (rpm Italian, Eataly, Etta). Chop salad and rigatoni were okay, pretty much what I had expected. Scallops had a sweet sauce over them and were pretty good. Potato skins were probably the best part but wouldn’t say they were anything to rave about. Decent vibes but service was slow for a busy weeknight. Felt like the server didn’t care too much for our table. Felt pricey for what we were getting.
I went to Bar Siena with a group of friends visiting from out of town. We were seating in the booths upstairs after checking in for our reservation. The restaurant was quite loud and full on both floors. Our server was prompt in coming to the table to take our drink order and to walk through the menu. They were quick in bringing drinks and then following up with our main orders. The food came out as it was ready and was a nice way to have a casual meal with friends. The dishes were tasty with the focaccia being our favorite. Overall the dinner was good and a great spot for a group.
Surprised by the calibre of the food, as I expected it to be more traditional low quality “bar” fare. The food was excellent and very tasty - the roasted heirloom carrots probably the best I’ve ever had. Service quick and efficient as well. Possibly a little too pricey - but where isn’t these days ?♂️ Overall a great lunch experience and highly recommended
I honestly thought this was just a bar that happens to serve ok food, hence the name "Bar" Siena but was pleasantly surprised by thoughtful, flavorful dishes that really surprised me. The octopus cichetti was absolutely fantastic and rivals some of the Peruvian places' octopus dishes. I never expected such a well thought out dish here especially as a small dish. The lobster pasta dish was delicate and wonderful while the burrata beet salad was light and refreshing. I can't wait to come back here to try more dishes as we kept it fairly light on this visit. Only recommendation is to pass on buying a whole wine bottle, and stick to the cocktail drinks and other individual drinks.
Delicious! New York strip steak and eggs, and spicy chicken sandwich. It was so yummy! Also ordered a bottle of prosecco for $62, and a mimosa kit with three different juices was $10. Parking is a bit hard to find on the street; they do offer valet.
Excellent table service with a cozy and casual vibe. I had a perfect Manhatten and we shared a lovely bottle of red with our meal. The charcuterie plate was loaded with excellent meats and cheeses. Loved the octopus, though also could have been grilled a slight bit more gently. The NY steak wasn't our favorite, a bit overcooked and stringy, but still flavorful. Cheesy orecchiette was rich and yummy. We'll definitely be back to enjoy a cocktail and try some of the other menu offerings.
Delicious food, good ambiance and very fast and good service overall. We ordered pizza and octopus entrée, both were good. We will definitely come back to try out more things on their menu.
