Landmark Italian with patio. Elegant Northern Italian trattoria with scenic garden patio serving an upscale menu since 1906.
A theater district classic - stopped in for an early dinner after seeing Tina. It was restaurant week and we chose off of the limited fixed price menu for $39 and were very happy. Our food was good, the service was attentive, the red and white wine offered were both very good ($12/glass) and our meals were tasty too. No negatives, just didn't wow us enough for 5 stars. Recommend
Let’s start with some positive. The restaurant is beautiful and the presentation of the food is lovely. The staff however is snotty. Coat check tries to shame you for not checking and then asks you not to hang over the back of your chair (every other table had coats on the back of chairs). The waiter seems miffed when we only wanted water. The gentleman who brought us bread (20 min later) was actually WONDERFUL the only bright point of our service experience. Dinner took a while and was presented beautifully. I ordered the chicken (house specialty) and it was dry and burned. No one asked how the food was so I did not get a chance to provide feedback. My desert was yummy but did not make up for all the negatives. It’s their loss as I was researching places to host an event. Major let down
Second time dining here. This time it was after a matinee Broadway show, so it was not super crowded. Love the ambiance of this vintage style authentic NYC restaurant just steps from the theatres. Coat check at the front of the restaurant & a full bar as well. Had the restaurant week special & all of the food was quite tasty. The pasta was cooked very al dente however the sauce was just delicious! Ordered Vodka Stingers & if I could handle my liquor better, I would have ordered two more! Yum! Highly recommend. The wait staff was attentive & multiple staff members checked on how we were doing. They also sang happy birthday to my friend, much to his chagrin & much to my great pleasure. "Another Vodka Stinger!"
Came here before going to a show. Service was fast, but didn’t feel rushed. They have a pre fixe for before show times and the food was absolutely phenomenal. The staff were attentive and friendly. Definitely a must if in the city!
Beatifull italian family restaurant. Food and service is excellent, but italian. Do not compare it to US restaurant. Old maitre D was great personality and provided very good, old fassioned service. Pricey but worth it
I almost never write restaurant reviews, but we met a waiter who needs to be recognized publicly. Eduardo is his name and he was phenomenal. He catered to my friend and me. He was prompt, smart, caring, and knowledgeable about the food. And he just had this friendly demeanor about him that made us smile. By the end of our dinner, the two of us said, we would return to the restaurant. By the way, the food is pretty good! Thank you! Eduardo for the wonderful service!
Marvelous dinner! We had the fixe prix pre show dinner...great selections and all were delicious. Lovely old world atmosphere...perfect for a special date night.
Went there for restaurant week. The brisket I had was the softest meat I’ve ever tasted—it literally melted in my mouth. Everything was fantastic. The staff was lovely, the exterior and interior design was beautiful and classic, they had a violinist playing, and it was overall a wonderful experience. I love that they have a coat room. I would absolutely go back.
