Upscale Italian fare in a firehouse. Stylish spot for classic Italian plates & cocktails served in a historic, restored firehouse.
Loved the atmosphere and the service. Such a unique place where you can explore some of the old remnants of the firehouse. Unfortunately, the food didn’t meet our expectations. My spaghetti had way too much pepper. The green beens have a tomato sauce that takes from their flavor. The rest was okay. The only thing we thought was really good was the eggplant. The sauce for the spinach truffles was yummy, too. The server said it was an experimental menu so maybe be we went at a bad time.
The hostess was friendly and greeted us upon arrival. The restaurant itself was sophisticated while relaxing at the same time. We loved the way the menu was laid out. Our waiter was knowledgeable and helped us order just what we needed. The bread was great. We followed it up with what are without a doubt the best meatballs I've ever had that came swimming in a delectable tomato sauce. Afterwards we shared an amazingly rich pasta and spinach dumplings that were to die for. We ended it with a tender, juicy, hearty chicken parmesan. My only complaint was that the upstairs dining area was noticeably warmer than downstairs. The drinks were good too.
We ordered all over the menu and not one bad dish! Highlight was the spinach dumplings, we actually re-ordered. Service was top notch! The pork chop was second best, can't recall the sauce but it was tasty. Had a great dinning experience here, highly recommend!
We had an amazing meal! The service was top quality and our server Adrian was on top of everything and very knowledgeable about the menu and recommendations! The atmosphere was very warm and romantic and the cocktails were a perfect addition! Will definitely be coming back for another date night!
Had a great evening at Battalion with colleagues. The restaurant is really unique -- a former firehouse converted into a restaurant gives it a really cool look and feel, plus there is a fireman's pole so you can look down from the second floor. Pretty cooln I was really impressed by the fresh food and large wine selection. I would absolutely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for a nice evening somewhere unique and slightly upscale.
A trendy spot for Italian. Overly done in chic design but the food is great. Staff is very professional and helpful on what to order. Great wine selection. Parking is tough if you don't want to pay, especially on a busy night.
This was our first time here. Waiter and staff were super knowledgeable. Food was excellent. I had the wine and it was exceptional. The mixed drinks the others had were also good. The salads are a good choice. I had the steak and for an Italian place it was very good. The restaurant is in an old fire station and the mood lighting is red. Not sure that works. You sort of feel like your eating in a bar or dance club. They cook the food on the 2nd floor. The place it not big. They have outdoor eating space.
We loved the ambiance and service at this restored firehouse turned Italian restaurant. Everything from the bread service and appetizers to drinks and homemade pasta were great. As an added bonus, the area overlooks downtown San Antonio and the Tower of the Americas.
