Low-key Vietnamese sandwich shop. Classic Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches served in a tiny, bare-bones counter-service shop.
I got the #1 BBQ Pork and it blew my tastebuds away! This place is dang good. The meat was so delicious and the vegetables were fresh and added a good crunch. Great price and even greater sandwich! My wife who typically doesn’t like to try new things even tried it and loved it! I went around 11am and soon after the line was packed. It is a popping local place so you know it’s good.
We ordered the #1 pork Banh Mi sandwich which was good overall, but a bit skimpy on the fillings. The bread was very fresh, but for 8 bucks would expect some more filling for that price point. The only thing they got going was they accept credit without an additional surcharge which was nice.
Their sandwiches are good but they've skimmed on the ingredients. I understand prices have went up but the quantity of fillings is less. The beef had more than half onions to meat ratio. Same thing with the pork chop. The pate had 4 slices of meat but the pate was very sad to say very little. The sandwiches from the restaurant on Grand sandwiches Forsyth is better for the same price.
One of the best bahn mi that I’ve encountered in NYC. Got the #4 roast pork and pate spicy. Pork was excellent and deeply flavorful. At $7 a sandwich this is a great deal.
My go to spot for Vietnamese sandwiches. It's a popular spot so there's always a line but the wait is usually 10 to 15 mins so not too bad. They also accept credit cards which is always a plus in Chinatown. I usually order either the #1 (bbq pork which is $8) or #2 (grilled chicken which is $8.50) with mild spicy level.
6/30/22: Had the "Banh Mi Saigon, BBQ pork sandwich" Very good; As opposed to a traditional banh mi, this one has somewhat sweet bbq pork instead of cold cuts; different but still very good
Currently a takeout-only place but it accepts credit card. Serves delicious banh mi and other quick-bite items that are no more than ~$10 each. But don’t be fooled by the low prices, you’ll definitely get a lot bang out of your buck. The serving sizes fall on the bigger side and they don’t skimp out on the ingredients. I was pleasantly surprised by how substantial and full of shrimps the spring rolls were. The vegetables are fresh and the bbq pork in the banh mi was flavorful and spicy in the best of ways. Also the $3 iced coffee is now a staple I must get every time I’m in the area!
Tasty Vietnamese Bahnmi sandwiches. Great lunch option but beware it could get a little messy with the bread crumbs. I love their classic BBQ pork with no spicy. Flavorful pork with the pickled carrots and fresh cilantro. It's my go-to order when I'm craving a sandwhich. They get really packed during lunch hours and the wait time could be anywhere from 15-20 minutes. So I would call in advance to place and order.
