Swanky, two-story steakhouse & bar. Spacious, modern destination for high-end steak & cocktails with glitzy decor & a rooftop patio.
Excellent experience. Food and drinks we ordered were all very delicious. Pretty traditional steak and sides options. Service was good, loved the effort put into the nice uniforms. It was hilarious though that almost all the staff wore casual or trendy sneakers with their fancy uniforms, not letting us forget that we’re still in California. Overall, I was most impressed with the design and decor of the space, from the menus to the restrooms.
We were referred here by a friend for our anniversary/valentines celebration. We started with a bottle of wine and sat at the bar as we waited to be seated. The bar staff was delightful. Once seated we enjoyed bread and meatball appetizers. For the main course we ordered the Wellington for Two. The dish takes an hour to prepare and it was well worth the wait. We finished our meal with 7 layer carrot cake and 5 layer chocolate cake. The food was delicious! Scoring top five experiences we’ve ever had. Our waiter, Anderson, and his busser were both outstanding throughout the evening. We truly enjoyed this experience and would most happily return in the future. It is recommended to make reservations well in advance. Main floor is ADA accessible. This restaurant is universal to everyone.
Everything about this restaurant was perfect. We made reservations a month in advanced and it didn’t disappoint. We were seated immediately, service was great, decor was top notch, and food delicious. Shout out to Sergio for making our table side drinks! We enjoyed the rib eye steak, steak tartar, bone marrow, puréed potatoes, and hash browns. Get the side of sauces for your steak too!
Finally we came to try out the Beef Wellington! My husband and I always want to find a local place to eat beef Wellington because we really love the one we had in Hell’s Kitchen. But there is really few places in San Diego have this dish on their menu, and Born and Raised has it! The size of beef Wellington here is much bigger than Hell’s Kitchen’s. It is totally for 2 people. But you have to wait 45 minutes, so we had a salad while we were waiting. The salad is fine, not bad not amazing. The beef Wellington is quite delicious, but it’s not as good as Hell’s Kitchen’s. The dish we love the most is the side - dirty hash brown, which has salmon eggs on the top, and the sauce is super delicious. Their cocktails are very good, I love them. The service is quite amazing. I recommend this place!
My wife and I went to celebrate our anniversary and were delighted by the whole experience. We were accommodated at the 2nd level, which is super nice and cozy. We ordered Caesars salad and a delicious "Rib Eye." We had also a black forest cake for dessert. We enjoyed the nice view from upstairs, and I have to mention that the service was outstanding and friendly.
I was dining solo, so I took a spot at the bar. The team behind the bar all worked together, but my first bartender checked my ID and took a card to start a tab. I got the menus and decided quickly on the 8oz filet (medium) and a side of Mac & Cheese. I also had a couple of old fashions. The steak was perfectly cooked and tasted very good. The Mac& Cheese came out piping hot and steamy. The flavor was delectable and the bread crumbs or panko on top gave a nice texture. The only complaint, as nice as the cutlery appeared, the knife did not cut my steak very well. In fact, it seemed kind of dull. Overall, great ambiance and vibe. Expect to pay $100 per person if you plan to have any cocktails.
We had reservation and it was quite crowded even for an early dinner. Parking was very tough in this area. Next time we probably won't book a 5pm dinner. For the restaurant, service was good but it took a long time for some dishes to make their way to our table, not sure why. The garlic bread, dry-aged meatball, roasted mushroom, and hash brown were very good. However, the ribeye was a little too chewy. For the price that was paid, we thought the steak should have been better.
Very lively place with great steaks ? and a roarin’ atmosphere. The toilets had funny inscriptions! The dirty hash browns were surprisingly delicious! The steaks came with four types of sauces. My wife didn’t like the music so loud but I did. It’s not supposed to be a quiet sit down place, this place is meant to be social and lively!
