NOLA-inspired eatery with a dance club. Funky hangout serving New Orleans-inspired bites & drinks, plus beats in its basement music lounge.
Fabulous unplanned brunch experience in quiet Saturday! While small, the space is cosy and intimate with interesting touches in the furniture and accessories. Service is impeccable, friendly, and equally attentive from end to end. And most importantly, the food is perfectly prepared, delicious and filling. Scones are also served on the house. Look forward to coming back for an evening dining and music experience!
Went for Jazz tonight and have to say they could have been excellent if Trombone didn’t feel the need to be both a comedian and be so needy - dude if you are good people clap. Also no quiet words with groups chatting very loudly - no idea of what’s expected so why come if you ain’t listening. Food was pretty good for location, beer and wine less so.
Came for stand up comedy. Great variety in the line up. Excellent craft cocktails that pack a punch. $10 drink menu all night.
Wow!!! I celebrated my birthday this weekend in the Canary Club’s private “supper club” dining room. This package includes a private street entrance, private sound system, private bar, private wait staff and private bathroom. Even though I knew all this going in, they still knocked it out of the park!!! The venue and decor were so impressive - it felt like throwing a moody, luxurious dinner party at my own apartment without needing to think or coordinate a single thing! The food and drinks were excellent - great variety for everyone and promptly flowing. Natalie in private events was so easy to work with in advance and the bartender/head waiter was so attentive and accommodating of my requests for the night. I had 18 seats total and this felt like the maximum for a comfortable/squishy seated dinner. I hesitate to write this review because I want to keep this place as a secret for myself!! But I reached out to many restaurants with private rooms and I’m so happy I went with Canary Club - I would book this venue again in a heartbeat.
My fiance and I just had our engagement celebration with friends at the bottom floor of the canary club this past saturday night. The space was beautiful and all of our friends were raving about it. We didn't even need to spend lots of $$ on decorations because the space speaks for itself. The service was incredible and the drinks were great. You will not find another space like this in NYC, it is extremely spacious for a huge group. The canary club management is lovely. We dealt with their events manager, general manager and assistant manager - all who were always responsive and professional. When you book an event with them they will immediately understand the vibe you are going for and set out to achieve it. We had booked a jazz band through them who were phenomenal. Thank you so much canary club!!! We look forward to coming by on a regular night.
This place is a TRUE GEM. The location makes it easy to walk by, but everything about the place is perfection- the food, ambiance, staff and everything in between. The details in the decoration make it a truly special place, so make sure to look around if you go. Most recently went for brunch which was sooooooo delicious and had one of the best Bloody Marys there as well. Cherry on top was the jazz playing in their outdoor area. Have been for dinner too which is also fantastic. Don’t sleep on this place - it’s the best!
I had a dinner party event here to celebrate a very special occasion. We were in the Curved Bar space, which is semi-private, and connected to the music lounge. There were a few bigger kids (10-12 y.o) in our group. I cannot say enough positive things about this experience. This was one of the only reasonably priced private or semi-private spaces I could find for such a planned event (10-12 people) in NYC, and I am so glad I found them! Natalie and Ashley with events and the restaurant Maitre'D answered so many questions and made sure that everything went smoothly. They were also clear in their communication, and very accommodating with the children we had as well. And according to my guests (and me), the food was great! Highlights were the fried chicken with sauce and waffle fries, salad, as well as the dessert sundae. My party (and kids) also liked the selection of mocktails, in addition to the alcoholic beverages. The bartender we had to ourselves for the dinner was also wonderful, and the adults were able to enjoy some jazz as well. I would highly recommend this space for a great-tasting, flexible, and reasonably priced planned group dining experience in the city.
I was honestly shocked at how wonderful of an experience I had at the Canary Club. You don't really expect great food from a jazz club, but this place had really fabulous food. Our server, Melissa, recommended the roasted oysters and they were absolutely amazing-- I was blown away. The prawns were also exceptional and come with a good amount of fingerling potatoes. The escargot was totally medicore (but escargot fans know mediocre is good enough) and the lettuce wraps are skippable-- but the dirty martini was great and the service and entertainment were really good. Overall I would STRONGLY recommend The Canary Club for anyone looking to impress someone, and you would be so lucky if Melissa were to be your server-- she is passionate and delightful. Oh also the sundae? GREAT.
