Yesterday I dined at La Fonda on Main in San Antonio, and the experience was so enjoyable I followed the Media Manager's recommendation to try Cappy's. Molly, the bartender, was fantastic and made a fantastic margarita. The Thai Steak salad was extraordinary, with a perfectly cooked steak and plenty of fresh herbs and peppers. I can't wait to go back! The restaurant was also clean and had impeccable decor, and the staff made me feel at home. I appreciated the chats with the GM and others who stopped by. I'll be back soon!
We found our new favorite restaurant. We went in on a Tuesday at opening for a nice 15th anniversary lunch and were seated right away, but it got busy really fast. From the host staff, the wait staff, a couple visits from the general manager it was hands down the best service we've ever had. The food is incredible, the house made ginger ale is the best we've ever tasted, the cocktail options are so good it was really hard to decide what I wanted, and the lunch menu was really diverse. We were already thinking about when we could go back before we even got up from the table.
Cappy's in San Antonio TX exceeded our expectations! Lindsay served us like we were the only table. She was attentive and was always there but invisible at the same time. Pairing exceptional service with the most incredible prime rib you will ever have, and it's a huge win. Lindsay suggested a great bottle of cabernet. She knew exactly what we liked, which was perfect with our amazing dinner. Lindsay brought our experience to the next level. The GM, Keith, our server, and other staff checked on us and truly cares about the guests. We felt like part of Cappy's family! Be prepared to spend a bit more for the most incredible, memorable experience at Cappy's the next time you are looking for the best of the best in fine dining with awesome service. Ms. Lindsay, thank you for taking great care of us!
Incredible food, so so service. Dined for dinner and the for brunch. Epic food. Epic bread - but I had to ask. Amazing food - but no one checked that it was to my liking. Amazing drinks but they remained empty for far too long. Will likely try again - even just to get my hands on those shrimp nachos - just wish the staff cared a but more.
Loved this brunch spot! They're coffee was okay, but the food was great! The atmosphere is also open and inviting. I recommend making a reservation for brunch of you want to sit outside, but we waited about 15 minutes for a table inside. Great spot if you have people visiting from out of town or just to get some good food.
Does Cappy’s need another review? No. Do they deserve one? Absolutely! What a San Antonio staple! Extremely pleasant atmosphere, ample dining/patio space, current staff members are great, and of course, the soul of such establishments, the food! Their complementary assorted breads basket and the strawberry butter they serve it with is scrumptious! You’ll find everything from Texas favorites, to typical bistro fare, and innovative takes on some classics. A little something for everyone, kids included. I’m always very happy when we all agree on Cappys for brunch!
We went there during their brunch time. We had eggs Benedict with the lump crab cake (rather than Canadian bacon) and a gulf shrimp omelet. It was my birthday so we got a free dessert. The food was absolutely amazing and very reasonably priced. Each meal was about $20 and came with free bread which was also incredible. This was our first visit here and will not be the last.
Beyond excellent service. The waitress was super attentive and the managers even checked in with us as well! The food....wow. Absolutely amazing and perfectly cooked and beautiful presentation. 5/5 I'll be thinking about this meal for hours/days afterwards. We had the Paté for our appetizer. For our main course we had the Halibut and the Lamb. For dessert...the toffee sticky pudding (which was beyond amazing)
