Chicago Speakeasy

The restaurant is nice inside. High tops are pretty well spaced in the front room. The booths go down a hallway with no exit and wrap around the salad bar. Very intimate setting. Maybe a little too close for comfort. Didn't really enjoy our neighbors arguing with each other and didn't want to inconvenience the server by moving to a different section. She was awesome! The salad bar had a lot of good options, but seemed like all the stuff had been sitting out for awhile. The prime rib was really good. My fish entrée was okay. The prices are pretty elevated for the area. Not sure I would come back for anything besides the prime rib.

Had the best experience tonight. Had a little bit of a wait, and sat at the bar until our seat was ready. Ordered a top shelf margarita and it was the best I've ever had! Then got seated and had Jeff as a waiter. Ask for him!!! He was awesome and probably one of the best servers in Des Moines. Food was good, service was excellent. Can't ask for anything better!

Burger was on point. The fried chicken was super crispy and the garlic mashed potatoes were definitely garlicky. The onion ring appetizer was hard to eat with a fork and also difficult to eat with your fingers but still tasty! Salad bar had so many options! We will definitely be back!

This is very great place for cocktails (8-9$) and steaks (28$ and up for 12 oz) Their salad bar is awesome you can go there unlimited times. Just make sure you will leave some room for your meal lol My bill was under 50$ but I had a good time and a good quality food. Waitress came to check on me every now and then. Will definitely come back

Excellent food, wide variety of options on the salad bar, reasonable prices during lunch which runs until 4 pm. I had 6 oz prime rib which was delicious, but after the salad bar, there was plenty to take home. During the lunch special you get fries as your side, I was disappointed to not get a choice, but once you truly the fries, you won't be disappointed. They are crunchy on the outside, soft inside with the perfect amount of salt. Waitress was attentive without hovering. Very pleased.

Nothing fancy but had a good atmosphere. Salad bar was awesome. A little small, seemed like there may have been something going on in next room as we could hear someone on a microphone. Food was good and staff pleasant. Would go back.

I really liked the ambience and decor. Our server was attentive and pleasant. The salad bar was great, my prime rib really hit the spot, so good. I ordered medium rare, and I got medium rare. Also, the bread was yummy.. I'll go back, for sure.

This restaurant is a must if you are in Des Moines Iowa.first the service was wonderful and friendly.the food was absolutely out of this world.the salad bar was fresh and clean.each of our meals were cooked to perfection and just the way we ordered it. I highly recommend this place for anyone to enjoy.
