Hearty American fare in Western digs. Family-friendly eatery & bar known for a wide American comfort-food menu & Western-themed environs.
So I really enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the service! Everything came quickly and the waitress was very pleasant. The food came in big portions to match the prices and it was delicious. I tried a few things around the table. Desert Carmel Butter Cake?, spinach dip with chips, 6 ct. large mozzarella sticks and the huge pot pie. We literally was able to split the food between four people. However, I rate the atmosphere as a 4 star (ONLY) because four of us sat at a table designed for four people but it was uncomfortable once food and drinks arrived the space became very small. The table is better placed for a party of 2-3 and three is pushing it in my honest opinion unless it's a small kid. Don't expect close parking as this restaurant is attracted to a hotel in down town San Diego. However, you may park at a fee across the street which wasn't a problem because after a large meal you can take a relaxing walk down the harbor which has beautiful views. If you decide to go after 8pm parking is free and it's less crowded making it easier to find parking.
We waited 35 minutes at our table for our order ?, other people were complaining and left. And they had no line to wait. The mac cheese is watered down and the loaded baked potato needed seasoning. This claim jumper is across from the pier in San Diego located in the Wyndham Hotel. The Hotel itself is clean and neat very nice. Our waiter was very nice and we got a free cake and ice cream ?! We definitely tipped her but we wanted to tip the tables ???.
Spent the evening on the patio listening to a concert next door. Had drinks, appetizers and even dessert while relaxing on the couches. Edna was perfect in helping us but also not encouraging us to finish up and leave! I loved that we could just hang out and keep our bill open to add as we spent our time there.
Its ok. The steak was a horrible cut and the sizzling platter was a waste of time. To much grease/fat and the garlic cheese bread had barely any cheese. Potato skins where very greasy. Will not return. Ok if you just need a grab and go meal and not expecting much. Service good. Ate inside. Patio looks good. Steak/garlic cheese toast/potato skins
Located at an ideal spot, across the street from The Star of India vessel and down the street from The Maritime Museum of San Diego. A hotspot for vacationers or visitors who need a nice hotel such as the Wyndham. Along with a full wet bar the prices are moderate. I almost forgot to mention outside seating is available with a harbor view from across the street.
Worst food ever!! Cold, sloppy, overpriced bar food. Out dated decor, disgusting dirty carpet throughout the restaurant. Explained my experience to the manager, Omar he was very attentive, and empathic. Great customer service, horrible food!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!
I ordered a New York Strip steak. It was really good. Served on a sizzling plate so my medium rare steak turned a bit well after a few minutes. Still good though.
Not a bad place to eat especially for a hotel restaurant. Hadd Lobster BLT and it was good. Wish there was more Lobster but that not really a complant. Always want more Lobster ? Chocolate cake for dessert needs to be shared by more than two. It was yummy and we took home over half even though we shared
