Out of four items, two were good, one ok and one was a real miss. OK salad, great falafels, great toast, but the chicken wings might have been missing salt altogether and were a bit dry. Service a bit slow, but the outdoor seats were nice
I have driven by Clementine's Stable Cafe hundreds of times since it opened and have not had a chance to make it in. We tried it out last night, and it was a pleasant experience. It was a beautiful Friday night, and we decided to on an outdoor table. For those that do not know, this is on Broad Street, just north of Vine Street, and sits above the BSL. I had not considered that the yutes of Philadelphia would be out in full force with their illegal ATVs and dirt bikes causing havoc on Broad Street. Our waiter attempted to explain the menu to us, but we had to take a 3-minute break so we could hear ourselves think after the noise pollution had dissipated. Just a word to the wise, indoor might be the better call. My first drink was delicious, Summer Heat(Tequila, Grapefruit, Lime, Habanero Bitters). I went with mussels to start (or so I thought), a Ceasar to split, and then the fried chicken. I believe they are going with what many restaurants now call a free-flowing kitchen, which IMO is code for we have no control when food gets fired and comes out. That said, the wife's burrata came out along with the Caesar as I was beginning to eat the salad, the. mussels appeared. Now the age-old dilemma, eat the hot app that came out, or the cold salad that I was already enjoying. I went with the mussels and the Caesar was about done for me. Perhaps it was on me to assume the salad mussels as the app would come up before the salad, but oh well. The fried chicken then arrived along with my wife's Ricotta Agnolotti. Both were very good. The chicken was super crispy and came with the cutest container of to sauce. it was about enough for one bite of chicken and not nearly enough (in my book can you have too much hot sauce?) for a 1/2 chicken. It was supposed to be served with Fennel and it was more like a whisper of fennel with one or maybe 2 small pieces of fennel on it. All in all a decent choice if your int the neighborhood, maybe before a show at the Met, or if you want to stay just outside of Center City.
Cool space, eating outside on Broad was extremely loud. Waited 5 minutes at the host station without being acknowledged. The bartender nor server said anything until I went over to them. The host stand is in a terrible position because there is a column blocking full view. We had the tasting menu for dinner: our favorite was the cavatelli. The oysters tasted and smelled very fresh. The grilled octopus was also very tasty. The porterhouse pork cop was a major disappointment lacking flavor, seasoning and overcooked. Overall, it was good and it is a great addition to the neighborhood. It would be nice if their happy hour went until 7 pm. We were there at 6:10 pm and it was already over.
Very clean establishment, Mia was a great hostess and waiter. She was very patient with me during my Indecisiveness on what to order. Even threw me some great suggestions. The food came out quick and fresh and tasted (though, the wings could use some BBQ or another sauce). And to add the icing on the cake they had DockStreet Pilsner which is one of my favs! I’d definitely be back and recommend this place to everyone. Oh, and the music was ALLL THAT! Please implement some live music as well?
Food was great! First order of wings was amazing, second order disappointed, salmon poke was amazing, first order of oysters came with sauces, second didn't. Overall was a great experience. Kylie at the bar was so busy but she was super friendly, even though she was running back and forth, she would always help when asked.
We attended a wedding reception here, and they were really wonderful to my Special Needs son. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars was due to the noise levels. The staff, food, and atmosphere were really fun. Many thanks to the waitress who has a Special Needs Brother.
We came by during the happy hour window, which is 4-6pm, and were impressed! The cheese curds were crunchy, the beers were well poured, and the oysters very fresh. The gnocchi we received from the dinner menu was also very good. Highly recommend swinging by during the happy hour window - and we will definitely be back for the full dinner menu.
Very spacious area and modern. Large portions. Food was decent and bit pricey I found my burger pattie a bit tough and could be seasoned better. My wife thought her chicken and Waffles a bit dry; it was a thick cut of chicken breast
