Fantastic, upscale Mexican restaurant located in Center City. Every dish, drink and dessert feels carefully prepped and created with attention to detail. Vibe inside is dim lights, hip music and feels like NYC more than Philly. More towards the higher end with prices but perfect place for a fantasy date night or special occasion.
Absolutely delicious Mexican fare! They have super creative twists on classic drinks, like a carrot ginger margarita. The tacos were all to die for. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I felt the staff at the front were a touch snarky when I came in and didn’t have a reservation. But the service and food was outstanding beyond that!
Loved this restaurant. Eliza, our server, was so sweet! Every single thing we ordered was really good! We started with the Tlayuda, highly reccomemd! When we try new restaurants we love to order a bunch of things, so for our entrees we ordered the carnitas tacos, lamb adobado tacos, the pescado frito tacos & the birria. Every dish was really flavorful. The rice & beans were also good. Only thing we wish was on the menu was some type of side dish with corn, we loveeeeee elote! We had a couple cocktails, and they are the only things we didn’t completely love. Most of the cocktails were Smokey & spicy & had ginger. (Not what i want in a drink) I love a strong cocktail, but I don’t like them spicy or gingery. If you’re like me, I’ll just recommend the plain margarita. I would love to see a flavored margarita without mezcal/anything spicy. The deserts were also very yummy, the upside pineapple cake being our favorite! Overall really enjoyed it & the ambience. ALSO, a huge plus for playing Spanish music, I hate when restaurants claim the Latin culture and don’t go all the way with the music & having people of color working. So we were glad to hear Spanish music & see Latinos on the staff. We’ll definitely come back.
We had a wonderful dinner at Condesa! We were celebrating a 21st birthday and it was the perfect location. Our server, Tyler, was awesome and so friendly. The food was delicious- we will definitely be back!!
Great place for drinks and apps (especially at happy hour)! I got a margarita with tequila and was very happy with it. We also shared chips and guac and salsa which was also great. Great vibes and comfortable seating. Definitely recommend for an evening outing for drinks to hang out with friends and family.
Stumbled upon this restaurant because I was staying in the hotel above, and so glad I did. Overall the food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. For starters the ahi tuna tostada was fantastic although the tostada verano (with peaches and tomatoes) was less interesting. The pescado frito taco was very good and the pollo adobado was fabulous. I'll be back!
While this was a modern Mexican place (and Mexican food needs neither to be modern or fancy), Condesa did NOT disappoint. The servers were wonderful and the food was amazingly flavorful. We had guacamole (well balanced and great), the trio of salsas (increasing in heat), the tostada de atún (crispy tostada topped with melt in your mouth tuna pieces), and the carnitas tacos (you get two but they are full /big tacos in a beautiful blue corn tortilla). We wrapped up the meal with the pineapple upside-down corn cake (the presentation was BEAUTIFUL!) and the chamoyada (a balance of all the great flavors). It was $44 per person (with tip and no drinks) which was a little more than I’d say for Mexican food, but it was fantastic. Can’t wait to come back!
What a sexy restaurant in the heart of the City. Perfect for Date Night. This Authentic Mexican restaurant should teach other restaurants about customer service‼️‼️ Customer service is topnotch here!! From the hostesses, (Dan is just EVERYTHING- HE IS A VIBE and I Love Him) to the bartenders who were on point, attentive patient and suggestive to my taste preferences, to Greg, the owner himself, we just felt such positive warm welcoming exchange of energies. The food was exquisite!! THEE BEST Guac I've ever had. Soo seasoned, soo fresh, soo yummy ?!! The steak was THEE most juiciest and most tender steak we've had in a long while. Well done kitchen!! The three sauces that accompanied our table, were fresh in taste and a bit spicy but overall flavorful. Definitely an acquired taste. My quesadillas were amazing-- the tortilla was something like an appetizer all by itself. So light, flaky and tasty. The black beans lacked flavor and had this weird taste about them:( Yeea, I was kinda hoping they taste like GOYA LOL. We visited the rooftop and sheesh, what a vibe!! Between the sexy seating in the back and the city views, all you need is good company, laughter, positive vibes and a good drink (ok maybe 2 drinks lol) This spot is a must visit!
