If you enjoy pasta with chicken, try other favorites like Garlic Butter Chicken Pasta or Spaghetti Bolognese Chicken for more easy dinner ideas.

One of my best shortcuts is rotisserie chicken. Buying cooked chicken saves time — just shred and add it to the sauce. Most grocery stores carry rotisserie chickens, and they’re perfect for this recipe.
Another way to boost flavor is to use a high-quality chicken broth. I use Swanson® Chicken Broth to give the sauce a rich, savory base. A good broth makes a noticeable difference in quick sauces.

Swanson® broths are made from a balanced stock with farm-grown vegetables and seasonings, and starting with a quality double stock creates a richer flavor in simple recipes like this.

Easy Chicken Spaghetti
Ingredients
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 2 tablespoons salted butter
- 2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 (14.5 oz) can Swanson® Chicken Broth
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped onion (optional)
- 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan (optional)
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper (optional)
- Salt, to taste
- 15–20 basil leaves, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- While the pasta cooks, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the butter and melt. If using, add chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
- Add the shredded rotisserie chicken to the skillet and stir. Cook with the onion and garlic for about 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Pour in the heavy cream and the Swanson® Chicken Broth. Stir and bring to a gentle simmer. If using, stir in the shredded Parmesan and ground black pepper and let the sauce warm through.
- Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet and toss until the pasta is evenly coated with the sauce. Taste and add salt as needed.
- Optional: garnish with whole or chopped basil leaves, or sprinkle with extra Parmesan.
- Serve warm.
Notes
1. The sauce may seem thin when you first combine it with the pasta, but it thickens slightly as it cools and clings to the spaghetti.
2. Other garnish options include chopped parsley or chives.
3. For added nutrients, stir in a few handfuls of baby spinach after adding the spaghetti and let it wilt into the sauce.
