Chic eatery with Portuguese-Indian fare. Stylish canteen-style eatery with a patio offering Portuguese-Indian dishes, plus wine & cocktails.
Finally got to try this place out! The place is beautifully decorated, it feels fresh and welcoming. They sat us down fairly quick but I definitely recommend a reservation because it filled fast on Saturday. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable. Drinks came out fast and food did as well. The food was delicious, it was spicy full of flavors and fresh. The drinks were delicious. The place has plenty seating inside and out, definitely coming back to try other dishes.
Great modern Indian fusion restaurant! Love the vibe indoors. Food is mostly excellent. Just the service can lack / be kind of slow. And portion size are American tapas style. So expect a hefty order, but if you’re a foodie- you’ll love it! And that dessert…not to be skipped!
Da Gama is a trendy restaurant with an Indian fusion menu. All of the food was tasty, well plated and delivered timely. The vibe was great and was not stuffy at all. Dessert was the biggest surprise and was very good. The drinks were all interesting and very good. The paella was probably my favorite from the meal
First of all, I love Indian food. This is Indian food with a twist, served in a fancy way. Unique twists, that I’ve never had before. Lots of veg options. The setting is gorgeous, service was great. Only drawback are the drinks are tiny. Tip- get lots of small apps and share with the table.
Overlooking the newly established MKT trail, Da Gama, serves up modern Indian food in style. The atmosphere is clean, modern, and cozy. Presentation and taste are definite highlights from the selections ordered. The food was good. We wanted to try more after we finished. We’ll be back for a date night to try more!
Pro: +Empanadas were the best. Good ratio of filling to dough (sometimes there’s too much dough and they skimp on the filling). Pastry is nice and flaky. Spice of filling balances well with the sweetness of the chutney. +Kebab burger - good sized portion of meat for a happy hour menu; however, it was kind of lukewarm. Pleasant balance of flavors of between the cilantro chutney and kachumber. Fries are good. +Nice patio area with a view of the park across the way Con: -They did not bring the happy hour menu at first; had to ask for it. Weird since we arrived right in the middle of happy hour. -No allergen menu or key. They seemed surprised by the concept. Makes it difficult to tell at a glance what can be eaten by whom. Neutral: ~Calamari was over cooked and kind of rubbery. (The tempura zucchini mixed in is very good though. Light crispy batter.) Flavor is good though; slightly spicy, which is evened out by the acidity of the marinara sauce.
I threw my mom’s birthday here and it was one for the books! The food is incredible and I love it so much here. The space is great, the food is incredible! Both lunch and dinner are incredible and the drinks are amazing!
Da Gama is a chic restaurant serving Indian food that you may not be too familiar with. The cuisine is Goan which comes from the state of Goa on the Indian West Coast; a blend of traditional Konkan with the Portuguese influence from the colonial days. For drinks, the nimbu pani (lemonade) is really good but they have some good cocktails too (like the banananeira). The food is more tapas style but I'd say for a group of 4, perhaps one dish each is still the way to go with one to share. Try the prawn preparations. The lamb kebabs were well flavored and made. The date cake rounds up dessert quite well (1 is good for 3 people looking to just satiate a sweet tooth). Seating was well appointed if heaters provided outdoors on a chilly night. Service was friendly. I'd recommend reservations for the evening but you could fancy a walk-in with a 40 mins wait time as long as it's before 9.30 pm. The place is attracting both Indian and non-Indian guests which bodes well. Prices are on the higher side. I would put some effort into dressing, especially on a weekend evening.
