I had the pleasure of dining here back in 2019. All I can say is it was the best meal of my life! I’m patiently waiting their reopening so I can make it there this Christmas for dinner. Love this place!

A friend took me here for a killer steak. He knew I had prepared thousands of steaks for his catering business and rarely had a complaint. I noticed a certain dryness to this steak and I don't really get it since the plate looked plenty juicy. I found myself drinking extra water while eating it and I finished my glass before I was half done. I then waited a bit for a waiter to pass by, requesting more water. It took a while to receive the water and the steak seemed even drier by then. It's funny, but I didn't enjoy the steak at Peter Luger's that much either and it cost me $125. Not sure why both of these places seemed like a letdown, but I do know the New York Strips I cooked tasted fantastic with a dash of Maui Mountain marinade and a sprinkle of Montreal and the only complaint I ever got was from someone who ordered it medium rare and bloody. I delivered it as ordered but they thought it was a bit colder than expected. It was placed on a warm dish but received less than five minutes on the grill. I'm guessing the caterer had not removed them from the freezer in time to let them reach room temperature. So, anyway, I cooked it a couple minutes longer for them and they still weren't that happy. Next time, I'm gonna let them kill the cow themselves. I also likely won't be returning to these establishments as I live in CT and make out just fine when I do the cooking. Thanks anyway.

Chose to eat at the bar, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was to notch. The excellent, but smaller steak served there was a good choice after sampling a couple wonderful small plates. I had to try the Baked Alaska. It's a delicious, beautiful dish, and an excellent choice to share and cap off a romantic dinner. But we rated the cheesecake a little higher, in the head to head. Will return. (Oct 2019)

Had a wonderful anniversary. This place is like a dream! The steaks are cooked to sizzling perfection. Lobster bisque soup (and I've tried many) is among the best, with real fresh, delicious lobster chunks. The fine wine is oh-so yummy. They also serve a generous side of tasty asparagus. One order was enough for the hubby and me! Definitely recommend!

Pricey steak joint but worth every penny if you're in the mood for premier steak and service. Was here for our annual holiday meal and was not disappointed. The appetizers and steaks were spot on. A medium is suppose to. Medium. Medium rare had the right amount of pink. The portions were good and the dry aged did taste better as it should over the regular rib Eye... Of course the price reflected that room. If I had to complain.... Small steak portion in these massive plates... All that negative space just gives it a bad look in terms of optics. Still not my fav steak joint but I have to shout out to our server, Marina who was gracious, attentive and threw in 2 extra desserts for the 2 birthdays in our table.

This place was awesome! Starting with the main entrance, it looks simply amazing. The decor inside the restaurant is beautiful too. Service was impeccable, our waiter was very nice and patient ( we were a large group, so we really appreciated his patience). We all really enjoyed our steaks, loved the wine and liked the desserts too. We recommend their staple delmonico rib eye steak. From the sides, we really liked the mushrooms and the lobster mac and cheese. Creamed spinach was great too. Was very positively surprised by how great their classic baked Alaska was. Normally not a fan of it, but this place has a really good one. Wholeheartedly recommend dining here.

Delmonico's is an iconic classic 5 star steak house and club. First it was built in the late 1800's with the decor to match. Second, the service is impeccable! Our server had the menu memorized down to exactly how each item is prepared. Ordering is an education in steak aging, grading and preparation. It is right in the heart of the east financial district in lower Manhattan. We were consulting for the 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge at the time which is across the east river and to get there was a breeze. Ferry across 5 minutes, walk to restaurant 10 minutes. We split a 60 day aged 14 oz delmonico prime steak medium which came out perfect sliced and on 2 plates, along with perfectly browned mushrooms, fried shallots and heirloom tomato first course. One of the best steaks I've had and I have had alot! Downstairs there is a club of sorts. Kind of like a smokers lounge with all the best spirits out there. Cigar smoking... FYI. Pictures lined the walls of famous people from all areas of life. I felt like I was back in the prohibition Era because of the dates on the pictures. This area was hidden back then where traders could come to gamble and drink. I highly recommend this joint. Definitely make reservations and jacket and tie are expected but not required. This will set you back $300 for 2 but is well worth it. Definitely use GPS because there is not really a sign just a door at the corner of a triangle shaped building.

This was such a splurge of a lunch because I’m celebrating the recording of a video for an online conference and I nailed it! Looking on my google map for flagged restaurants in the area I found this place. I hadn’t eaten all day due to nerves and now I’m way full! I started with the salad. The toasted buckwheat were the stars of the show as well as their homemade vinaigrette. Then I had the brick roasted chicken. It was huge! Salty.. and even so that worked for me. I had to leave half for it due to travel so that was sad. I had sparkling water to match. This was a fine place for solo dining. They gave me a great seat where I could people watch. I need to return here when I can and try everything on the menu!
