This is an amazing dim sum and Chinese restaurant! The soup dumplings were great the shrimp was delicious The spicy chicken was amazing. Really a great experience overall. When we got there the line was out the door which was always a good sign however it moved quickly. Just remember to bring cash as they don't take credit cards however they have an ATM machine at the front door. I highly recommend this place it was fantastic! The Boba drink was excellent! ? ?
This is another one of those great hole in the wall restaurants. You don't come here for atmosphere. You come and return for the excellent food. Our table of 10 was told it would be a 10min wait for a table in a packed house. We didn't quite think it would be 10, but after 30 we were packed in the back room. Service was fast not cordial. I respect and expected it. Drinks were quick and accurate. I had a passionfruit smoothie and it was great. We put in a lot of food. It all came out fast a few dishes at a time. My order of pork soup and crab dumplings, and chicken on a stick ( Yeah I'm basic) were perfect. The dumplings especially were just amazing. The broth was flavorful and the dough was soft and supple not gummy. There were absolutely no complaints for the table and our 10 person table came to a total of $257.
My wife found this place on Tic Toc. So we was in the area and she wanted to go check it out. So we did. Service was quick our server was very attentive. I ordered the long John pepper beef spicy. When it can out it looked delicious. They did not disappoint. First bite was very spicy just how I like it. I didn't have to add anymore heat to it. Very tasty my recommendation is to stop by and try them out. You will like it. My wife had the shrimp noodles she said it was delicious. Go by if you are in the area. You will like it.
The absolute best DimSum I have ever had. The crab and pork soup dumplings were perfection. The diced chicken with hot pepper (mala chili chicken) was hands down the hit at the table. Surprise item of the night was the pan fried spicy soup dumplings. The combo of textures really made them pop.
This is easily the best dim sum I’ve had in Philadelphia. Their are a lot of places in this area, and I’ve eaten at many of them, but I always come back to Dim Sum Garden when I’m in town. Their shumai is some of the best I’ve had. They are always crowded but somehow always have a table within 15 minutes, regardless of my party size (3-8 people). The service is a little slow, but like is said - they are always slammed - and it’s well worth the wait. And it’s SUPER affordable. I recommend ordering family style, and when the bill comes, it’s always been $20-30/person, including bubble tea. Cash only! But they have an ATM when you walk in.
Really good place for Dim Sum and other dishes. We ordered a variety of entrees to share and nothing we had tasted bad. It's one of those places that you can order anything off the menu and figure that it's most likely going to be good.
For the price, Dim Sum Garden is a glorious cascade of dumplings, steamed and fried, and Chinese delights, each tastier than the last. Served quickly by a very nice staff who made sure our experience was great. Even though we arrived only an hour before closing with a party of 8 and a packed restaurant they made room for us. We averaged about 35$ after tip per person, but every person left fully satisfied, and some a little stuffed. Would come here again in an instant. Do note that this place is Cash Only, but there is an ATM on site. A recommendation, if you're coming for a lot of dumplings etc, use the menu as a checklist and fill it out to give to your server, it made out ordering process much simpler.
Took the family out to experience Chinatown last night. Dim Sum Garden was bustling around 5pm but we were seated quickly. The atmosphere and seating is hectic, a bit dated, and basic. Service was adequate, functional, and transactional. Now let’s get to the food. We were promptly served a variety of dim sum, soup dumplings, and main dishes with ho fun noodles and beef/chicken (although we ordered pork) as well as a soup. The food was excellent and enjoyed by everyone. The spice levels were perfect and freshness was apparent. The only thing holding me back from issuing that final fifth star would be my trip thru the restaurant to the bathroom. The clutter, sticky floors, cleanliness, and all around feeling that everything in the place had seen better days left me wanting a deep cleaning of the place, decluttering, fresh coat of paint, better lighting, and some new furniture before my next visit. Essentially they need a make over. All and all Dim Sum Garden’s food will not disappoint so I highly recommend you visit. To keep me coming back I’d want the makeover. Tip: it’s cash only but they have an ATM on site.
