Warm stop for island-inspired cuisine. Warm, colorful eatery serving upscale cuisine from Trinidad & Tobago such as seafood & veggies.
My husband and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary this week. We had a massage at the one of the hotels close by and decided to pick up take out at this restaurant on our way home. I should have known from the moment I walked in to walk out. We get home and I couldn’t believe what we received for $60.00 worth of dinner. I sent these exact pictures to a friend and her response was “where’s the rest”? Moral of this review, this place is trash. Don’t waste your time or money.
This fish broth was my initial start on a cold day and let me tell you is was a burst of flavor and so satisfying after coming in from the cold. And next I had seafood Paella and this was Spain in a plate done in Caribbean style. The food was simply delicious. I am happy I listened to my friend that recommended Flambo. Great food and lovely service. Kevin was a joy! We love his attention to details.
Excellent customer service. The bartender makes outstanding drinks. Original and potent! Had the jerk chicken wings and they were amazing! Will come back and bring friends/family!
My mother, Boyfriend and myself had a Feast at Flambo last night! All our Trini favorites with the back home Vibes! Service is exceptional and Kevin, the owner is very personable, accommodating and a joy to talk to!?. This is by far the Best Trinidadian ??/Caribbean Restaurant in the Tri-state area!!! This is our 2nd time dining here and will continue to support for as long as I am here in Philly! My favorite is the buss-up shot curry chicken! So flaky, warm and flavorful! Everything is WELL SEASONED! I am literally Always in a hurry for curry and on the run for Roti! Their food reminds me of my family’s home cooking ?. What a way to bring a slice of the Caribbean to downtown Philly with a delicious dining experience, vybes , music and atmosphere !! You have to see it for yourself, YOU WILL BE HOOKED ON THE FOOD especially the ROTI! Can’t wait to come again and indulge!! From: An Extremely satisfied Customer ??????
I’ve always loved Flambo but since they’ve changed locations - it’s become one of my favorite restaurants. Not only is the food the perfect blend of several tantalizing and flavorful food cultures but the service is unmatched. I went for my birthday and they made my experience feel special when every other center city restaurant felt slammed. I tried their traditions menu which featured 1 starters, 2 small plates, 2 entrees and dessert for only $50 per person. As soon as we were done one dish, another one was on their way. Already thinking about the next time I can go back!
You just have to visit to feel the experience ?? brunch is a vibe every Saturday and Sunday from 11am - 3pm! Live DJ, fire mimosa, and much more! Trini style blood Mary hirs different!
I’m only giving it two stars because the jerk wings were great. However, the rest of the food was absolutely terrible. The stew chicken was so bad the chicken was so over cooked I could even cut it with a knife. Then it came with a side of ? beans . My friends and I ordered a spread for the entrees and everything was terrible. It was truly disappointing because as a Bajan, I was always told how good Trini food was. I decided to take my friend from Trinidad here and this place is a poor representation of Trini food. 2/10
Honestly if you’re giving this place anything higher than a 2 you’re lying. We found out about this spot on TikTok. The atmosphere was cold and uninviting. The food came out luke warm. The curry lamb was salty & very watery. The oxtail though…5 pieces of bone and fat drenched in a sweet oily gravy sauce served w basmati rice and beans? The Mac Pie is something that should be removed from the menu all together. It’s made with spaghetti noodles and taste like pepper sauce w no spice. We were served an old piece that the chef sprinkled some shredded cheddar on and reheated. We told the waitress we didn’t like it, implying we did not want to be charged for it. She brought out a “fresh” piece and despite us telling her we didn’t like it, left it on the bill. As a West Indian, I had high hopes for this place, I surely won’t be returning.
