Sushi, cocktails & karaoke rooms. Bi-level Japanese & sushi spot with wood-paneled booths & full bar, plus karaoke rooms.
I had basically given up on finding good sushi in center city but gave one more spot a chance and luckily the rolls I ordered for take out at Fuji Mountain were good! I really liked how I could select avocado or cucumber for my spicy salmon and spicy tuna rolls. Fresh and flavorful. I’ll order for pick up again for sure!
We made a reservation for two but didn’t need it on a Wednesday, the restaurant was nearly empty. The staff was very kind and attentive (without being overbearing). We ordered the Wasabi Shumai (steamed) and Beef Gyoza (fried) to start. (The wasabi was in the shumai wrapper and whoa whoa did it burn your nose. The gyoza was as expected). For entrees, we got the Stone Pot Beef Bibimbap (great, but the pot was too hot so too much of the rice was charred to the point you couldn’t eat it. Would have preferred sliced beef, but the ground beef still has a great flavor), the Angry Tuna roll (so much fish/meat, it was amazing and so flavorful), and a Eel/Cucumber/Avocado hand roll (the eel was a little fishy but overall ok). Overall, nice experience and will be back!
Been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The sushi is delicious and very fresh. Great variety of specialty rolls. Also try the housemade Soju! ?
Ended up here by accident after spending hours in the Mutter museum on a rainy Saturday and it was so good. Lunch was a quiet time. Cozy booth with all kinds of dark wood paneling. We got a sashimi appetizer, a hurricane roll, and ex-girlfriend roll, and the house hot sake. Everything was just right. I wouldn't be disappointed if I had the exact same experience next time I go there. P. S. Recommend sharing the hot sake with someone, I ended up drinking the whole thing and was rolling ?
Mt. Fuji is always a great sushi restaurant. You can never go wrong and they even have karaoke - I didn't know that! We ordered a sake tequila fruit punch - it's a spicy margarita. For appetizers we ordered fuji wings (soy sauce), sashimi appetizer which was salmon, tuna and yellowtail. Our choice of rolls was spicy salmon crunch, spicy tuna and spider roll. Food and ambiance was great. Nice and relaxing ?
Consistently good sushi. We eat here every month. Sushi dishes are really good. Fish is fresh. I never had bad experience here. Also, if you like uni, this is the only place in town to get good quality uni. I have paid much more in fancier restaurants for much worse quality. We always have to get multiple orders when we come here. They have other cooked dishes as well (Korean food). But I am usually too full to try. Maybe next time. They also have my fav dessert, which is fried icecream. Yummmmmm!
My favorite spot was closed, so i went here because of the ratings. Very disappointing. Ordered the ex-girlfriend and the firecracker. The Ex-gf was ok. When they say “crab meat” on top, it’s literally just the thick strands of the fake crab meat with piles (literal piles) of panko. For the firecracker, it’s a roll, with just a giant pile of mushed fish on top. Not sliced or presented well. It looked terrible on the plate, and is a textural nightmare. Not sure if some would like this, but the rolls are so fat it’s hard to fit in your mouth. Also because of the piles of panko or mushed fish, it just fell apart. Mess! 3/10 on freshness. Overall, it was the worst 44 bucks spent on 2 rolls and a salad. I wanted it to be good to have a back up for when Vic’s is closed.
Everything I ever wanted in a Japanese food place: fat bowl of sakedon, salmon skin hand roll, california roll and a big bottle of sake to share with friends.
