My husband and I dined at the Boathouse at Disney a few weeks ago and although I was impressed, my husband was almost in tears. Happy tears. My husband is a very large man and dining out is always complicated and uncomfortable. The gentleman at the front door must have heard us talking about the close proximity of the tables because he asked if we saw a table we’d be interested in and then offered a half table/half booth. I’m almost positive that he even moved the table for extra space near the booth before we went to our table. The entire meal, which was fantastic, my husband would not stop talking about how accommodated he felt without being made to feel self-conscious about his weight, or sat in the back, for the first time in years. “Thank you” is not enough.
We usually have a lovely experience at Gibsons, but this definitely was not the case during our last visit to the Oakbrook restaurant. We were seated at a table that clearly hadn't been cleaned properly as there were red wine rings and bread crumbs on the table. We then began to notice that mask regulations weren't being enforced. We saw at least a dozen people walking around without masks. One hostess actually sat a couple who weren't wearing masks. One diner walked right by our table maskless. When I told him that he must have forgotten to put his mask on, he actually told me to eff off, but he didn't say eff. We complained to the manager who told us that there was nothing he could do. Really? Most places have no problem enforcing mask regulations. It was disgraceful and we will never go back to the Oakbrook location.
I went to Gibsons on my Birthday, service and food was terrible.
Fye my food was prepared exactly how I asked?
