Upscale American eats in homey digs. Brick location with a spacious interior serving a menu of innovative upscale American fare.
Went there for lunch last week. Great service and great food. Gumbo was excellent with a dark roux. I also had the fried chicken with mash potatoes and macaroni and cheese. All were excellent. Fried chicken was cooked perfect. Even the cornbread brought for the table was excellent. Definitely recommend.
We made reservations to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary here. Although we arrived early, they seated us at our table but it was near the bar and louder than we desired so they accommodated our request to move someplace quieter. We had 2 waiters providing service and the manager checking on us. Their timing on when to check up on us was impeccable. The food was fantastic and flawlessly cooked. They provided a beautiful dessert to mark the occasion. Overall, the service, food, ambience and occasion were perfect. Very highly recommended.
We went to Grace’s for the first time to take advantage of their $25 lunch special for Restaurant Week because it seemed like a great deal. The offerings differed from what showed up online, but we were not disappointed! A whole lot of tasty food for the price. We added on the Bundt cake for dessert and we were glad we did. Service was excellent as well. Looking forward to coming back!
The service was excellent! Allen was our server and he paid attention to the details. He was kind, efficient and personable! The owner came to our table and personally wished the birthday person happy birthday. The food was great and the atmosphere was inviting! There were five of us. Someone had the southern fried pork chop breakfast and another person had the chicken and waffles.
Nice comfort food restaurant. Great service and food. I had the chicken tortilla soup and then the beef short ribs and mashed potatoes. The soup was perfect! The boneless ribs were amazing. My wife had the chicken fried chicken which was plate-sized with mashed potatoes and black-eye peas - all delicious! A bottle of wine plus two desserts (to go) and we couldn't eat another bite. We will be back!
Love it(a little expensive). The cornbread is to die for. I had the Fried Chicken and had to get a to-go box. Our waiter was at our continuously making sure we were good.
You must dine at Grace's if you live or visit the Houston area. The food and the atmosphere were great! I didn't really like the collard greens or the steak and eggs, but the creole stuffed chicken, fried green tomatoes, the shrimp and calamari, and sweet tea with lemon and mint was on point. I recommend this place, and the black excellence in here was amazing! This is a nice upscale restaurant where you and your girls can dine for brunch, or you and your significant other can go out on a date. Valet parking and covered parking are offered.
My second visit. The chicken fried chicken was crispy and seasoned just enough. I asked to switch my sides. The replacements were better. Con: Our group couldn't sit together. There were 8 adults and 1 child. So that made the celebration feel disconnected. They made sure we were connected in the automatic 18% gratuity.
