I do restaurant reviews as a main hobby and I had no complaints. The best service and the best ramen. The chicken was so good, the goyza was to die for. The pineapple sake is amazing. 100/10 would recommend and will be coming back for their happy hour

Cute restaurant in Little Tokyo. Had a legit Japanese vibe to it - crowded little hole in the wall restaurant. Place was clean and the staff were nice and friendly. I don’t like complaining but the food was disappointing. I had high hopes for authentic Japanese ramen. The broth was nowhere near authentic. It was watery, had minimal fat and was overly salty (I got the Tonkotsu Umi ramen). The ramen noodles were like random Chinese noodles. The bamboo shoots tasted like they came out of a can or jar (slightly sour like they were pickled). The pork was okay. It wasn’t terrible food but I was hoping for so much better especially with the high reviews. Tried the fried squid entree. It was okay.

To be honest I was trying to get into Marugame Monzo, but hunger and inclimate weather had me enter this place and turned to not to be a bad thing. Loved the decor and atmosphere. Felt legit. The service was brisk and personable. The ramen was good and flavorful! Had the Vegan white, with it creamy broth. It was mild and tasty. I guess you can opt for an upgrade with the flavor profile with some liquid enhancers but I did not feel it was necessary. Got a side of cut roll spicy tuna sushi. Everything hit the spot and I would definitely come back.

The ramen was absolutely delicious! The appetizers too! The happy hour prices are very interesting and the service is very good! Would definitely recommend for your ramen cravings!

Duck shoya ramen - 5 ?! Karaage (fried chicken) - 5 ?! I was lured towards Hachioji Ramen by the power of social media. I was intrigued to see it is only a few doors down from a very popular noodle shop, and I wondered how they'd do with their menu. I was put at ease the moment I stepped inside and saw a packed house for lunch. This place had a siren song for ramen lovers, and I was glad to discover it. I was interested in the vegan ramen, but I saw duck as a protein choice for their regular ramen and had to try it. Duck breast works very well as a ramen ingredient! It was tasty and filling. When I got to a new Japanese place, I often like to try their karaage. It's just fried chicken, but it is always tasty, and Hachioji's version was a winner. Overall, it was a lovely place, a great atmosphere, nice people, and now I have two ramen places to go to when I'm in Little Tokyo.

The staff was extremely pleasant and welcoming! The ramen was delicious and would definitely go back. The Raspberry and the Iced Green Tea was also really good, and the Green Tea is REFILLABLE!

Amazing! They have vegan and ramen (red and white), so delicious. The edamames are hot but you can feel better with a sip of Sapporo Light.

LOVED THIS RAMEN SPOT! A friend that is local to LA recommended we stop here for dinner out of the many, many ramen choices around. Hachioji definitely was a delicious spot for its broth, noodles, portion size, and balance of flavors! We got the Vegan Red Ramen, and the combo of Spicy Ramen (my friend ordered extra noodles) + the Beef Yakiniku Bowl as our mains, plus the meat gyoza and garlicky edamame for starters. It was happy hour, so my friend got some great, super icy Sapporo. The both ramens had superb broth with LOTS of vegetables to balance out the wonderful chew of the noodles. One of my friends is vegetarian and was really pleased to have such a nice variety to vegan broths. My other friend said the flavor of their spicy ramen was perfect— he wasn’t keen on how small the chunks of ground pork were inside, saying it didn’t really add much to his eating experience, but the flavor was great. Edamame came with a delicious and very garlicky spice. The side salad had a really fresh and delicious tasting dressing that I should have gotten a bottle of! It’s that good! Dumplings had a perfect pan fry to the bottom for a crisp base and packed with a pop of flavor. The service was a little curt as they let us know they had very limited seating, which is fine as one of our friends had to walk and extra 8-minutes so we started ordering food before they got there to help with the flow of the restaurant. We felt a little rushed to order due to their policy to seat whoever comes in ready to order, first, but that’s okay! Just plan your visit so that you’re ready to eat and leave instead of taking a table for too long. Overall I’m SO GLAD we chose this spot during our trip to LA! Hoping to come back soon!
