Chic American spot with bowling alley. A beautiful, bi-level space that joins a pair of bars, New American eats & a basement bowling alley.
Easily the best meal and best value I had in Philly. The quality of the food is outstanding. The drinks were awesome and our server was incredible. I came with a friend and there were so many things we were interested in ordering. After choosing about 5 items between us (a few small plates and an entree), we realized that for $55 per person, you can order the chefs tasting menu which allows you 8 selections and includes dessert. Everything was so good and the portions were great. Usually with menus like this, either the portions will be small or the food quality suffers but that just wasn’t the case here. The food was amazing and the atmosphere matched. There is also a bowling alley downstairs. Would definitely recommend checking it out!
I've been to Harp & Crown many times for happy hour and late-night drinks, but tried their buffet brunch for the first time this past weekend. I tried to temper my expectations, since buffets are usually kind of hit or miss. I was pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was! For a buffet, I was very impressed. I especially loved the omelette station and donut bar! My omelette was a tad bit greasy from all the butter used, but every element of it was expertly seasoned. I also really enjoyed the prime rib, but my husband said his piece was too raw in the middle, so perhaps consistency is an issue. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the atmosphere and would definitely come back for another fun brunch with friends.
The place is really pretty, the environment is comfortable. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We had the indoor seating by the front door, which is brighter but for me (28 weeks pregnant) it is a little too hot, especially they keep the front door open (81F that day). We had the brunch buffet, and the food is set up on their bar area. Next to the bar area has seating also, air is way better but the lighting is much dimmer. Their food selection is good, but for me the taste is okay. I went with my 2 girl friends, we tried on the exact same foods, but smoke salmon. Since I am pregnant, I am unsure to eat the salmon. But luckily I didn't try that, because both of my girl friends felt nausea and had diarrhea all night. We think it was the salmon since we ate the exact same foods all day.
It's just as quaint as the pictures imply. Came for happy hour, got there early but even people who showed up late didn't have to wait too too long for a seat to open up. The daily pizza was absolutely delicious and the drinks were not consistent between bartenders but good. Gotta say, I expected more cocktails, so I was surprised at the lack of selection, but we still had good drinks and good conversations and good food and enjoyed the ambiance. There was an event happening in the speakeasy downstairs but I hope to come back soon and check out the downstairs area as well. All the people were insanely nice and it's the coolest looking place so I'll definitely add to my Philly favorites.
Great new American bistro with lots of fun and delicious menu items! I really enjoyed the cocktails and the flatbread mushroom pizza was absolutely scrumptious. The vibe is dim lit and cozy but the atmosphere is lively and upbeat making for a unique dining experience. Can’t wait to go back!
My group and I had a great time. We arrived and, even though we had a reservation, had to wait about half an hour. The manager was very accommodating and apologized profusely. That is why I still give them 5 stars. The food was excellent, as well as drinks and dessert. We went on a weekday, but would like to go back on a weekend and see the bowling alley!
This place is hard to find on the outside because it's a speakeasy vibe. The hosts Bella, Sarah, and Jessi greeted us when we came in. We had a reservation for a later brunch but walked in much earlier, and despite being fully booked, they worked their magic and accommodated us. The breakfast buffet had something for everyone from and omelet bar to smoked salmon or chicken and waffles. There was even a donut bar with a variety of toppings. Bella was kind enough to show us the speakeasy bar downstairs even though it wasn't open. Ambiance and service were excellent! We will definitely be back
I'm always stunned by the design aesthetic of a Schulson collective restaurant and this spot doesn't disappoint. The design above is a a city version of farmhouse and quite stylish. The bowling lane and bar is vintage and hip. The food is spectacular and I really enjoyed both the pork chops and the steak, which were portioned for two. Outstanding!!
