Here’s What’s New with My Two Granddaughters

Hello everyone! My house is full of laughter and energy thanks to my two granddaughters, Ella and Jura. Let me introduce them.
Ella and Jura
Yesterday the girls visited the Mall of America for the first time and were thrilled by everything they saw. They chatted excitedly in the car on the way, and you could tell how much they enjoyed the outing. Jura has been loving bike rides with her mama, and one of the girls recently had a wonderful time swinging at the playground.
Their mothers sometimes lose track of where they are for a moment, but when they find them they shower them with affection. I overheard Jura’s mommy — who is my daughter — admiring how smooth Jura’s hair looks. Keeping their hair neat is clearly a labor of love: the moms will go into the girls’ room to carefully comb and decorate their hair with pretty accessories. The babies also nap in cozy, well-padded baskets, and while they sleep the whole household speaks in whispers so as not to wake them.
Ella and Jura have become an irreplaceable part of our home. Meet them:

Jura belongs to girl number one and Ella belongs to girl number two. They keep their parents busy, which suits me just fine — their energy fills the house with joy.
This week at church we reflected on kindness, even toward those who have wronged us. We studied King David as an example of showing compassion in difficult situations. We were encouraged to reach out to someone within the next twenty-four hours — a quick call, a thoughtful message, or a sincere smile — to make someone feel noticed and loved.
My week has been productive: I homeschooled, cooked, changed diapers, and organized outdoor playtime. It has been busy, but I enjoy every moment of it.
In August I plan to share a series of healthy and delicious recipes. The last time I ate clean for a week I felt lighter and more energetic, and this time I’m aiming for a full month. I’ll document the journey in my kitchen and share updates on my YouTube channel.

A small daily habit I recommend: each morning tell yourself, “Today is a good day for a good day,” then do your best to make it so. Live each day with intention and gratitude.
That’s what’s new with me. How are you doing? I’d love to hear.
