We stopped in on places that was close to where we were staying in San Diego for breakfast and we were so happy we did. It’s a fun place that likes the Wizard of Oz. It’s entrance is in black and white decor and as you round the corner to the restaurant and bar, there’s a beautiful mural of Dorothy and her friends in bright and vibrant colors on the back wall. The original owner was named Dorothy and they thought it was a good idea to pay tribute with the mural. The food was excellent. I got avocado toast with over easy eggs and the other dish was biscuits and gravy with bacon. We originally chose normal coffee but after reading The Hob Nob Espresso Bar menu, we switched to Hob Nob Hill Signature Coffee. What a fantastic choice. I highly recommend this place for breakfast.

The staff was AWESOME!!! They greeted us with a GREAT BIG welcome! My breakfast was simple, but VERY DELICIOUS ? I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the ambiance! The quality of the food was some goodness. The English muffin was JUST like I like it: GOOD, buttery & golden brown. If visit, do try their signature coffee cake. They change the flavor daily. Today was apple cinnamon. VERY moist & desiccant. The atmosphere was was BEAUTIFUL! As u can see I got a picture by 1 of my favorite movies. Check me out ?

I always love this Diner! They recently did a renovation which is nice but I have to say the old charming diner was plenty welcoming, felt so homey, and made the food even better. Don’t get me wrong, the food is still very good, the modern upgraded design will take sometime to get used to, still it was tastefully done. There are some wonderful things I love about this place you won’t find that make it unique. They make FRESH squeezed OJ! They have the cutest little loafs of bread, excellent muffins, orange cups of Jam, and cold salad forks! Those are just a few fun things that keep me coming back! I enjoy a cappuccino and they use a fancy cappuccino machine so the consistency is always perfect! I came in today just for a quick snack, I split a club sandwich which hit the spot! Thanks for never disappointing Hob Nob, and for always being the nicest, cleanest diner in town!

Really good breakfast. Very hospitable staff. We got the Denver omelette and the Baja omelette, and both were amazing. We also have the coffee cake and the raspberry cupcakes which were really great as well. The ambiance is really nice. There is street parking available since this is not too far from Balboa Park and the San Diego zoo. Would come back

The corned beef hash and eggs is one of my favorite breakfasts in San Diego. The corned beef is made on the premises with savory spices and a decent brine. Served with flavorful O'Brien potatoes and spectacular homemade chutney, it's divine. For a perfect comfort dinner, try the chicken and dumplings. Also, the crab Benedict comes with a heaping helping of fresh crab. Friendly service in a bustling environment.

The decor is nice. The food is just ok to me. The club sandwich was dry. Could have used more mayo. The chicken fried steak was ok too but also dry and could have used more seasoning. The pancakes were the best thing and that’s saying something since I didn’t even order it. Parking is definitely hard to find on the weekends.

We had the absolute best experience at Hob Nob Hill diner! The waitress who hosted us, Christa (probably butchering the spelling) was such a warm presence before we embarked on a rainy journey back home. It was my boyfriend's birthday, and not only did she add a candle to a slice of pie, she also joined in on singing happy birthday to the top of our lungs. Any restaurant can serve good food, and this diner is no exception, but the rare characteristic that solidifies this diner as a mainstay favorite is that their team genuinely cares about their customers and our waitress became our best friend for the day. We will be coming back here every single time we go back to San Diego. Bonus picture of the food which really was delectable.

This place was very cute and overall I liked it. I was a bit disappointed with the waitress and my bacon stuffed waffle though. The waitress seemed out of it but maybe it's because they were busy. The waffle was kind of flavorless and didn't seem cooked all the way through...like it needed a minute longer in the waffle iron. My older daughter's BLTE was delicious and my little ones pancakes must have been too because she cleared her plate and that never happens. My husband's mocha was fire and so were the mimosas lol...I will go here again...I guess I just had higher hopes because I saw it on Triple D years ago...
