Sleek venture for Chinese fusion fare. Contemporary takes on Chinese classics artfully presented in a chic, streamlined space.
Really good dining experience! Expect to pay a lot of money, but it’s worth a trip for a special occasion. The food comes out super fast and hot, which we were all pleasantly surprised by. My favorite dishes: - fried tofu with black truffle. Definitely order this. The texture is silky inside but there’s a light truffle flavor and perfect crispy outside. - shrimp and walnuts: the table favorite (and also our server’s favorite dish they make, so you have all of our seals of approval). - the braised duck (appetizer) is also tender and flavorful and presented in a beautiful cage and it was eaten very fast. I will say while the meatballs in brown sauce is really good, the sauce is a little too salty. The sweet and sour pork is also okay, the sauce is overpowering and it’s not crispy if that’s the style you prefer. The other dishes we enjoyed were the jellyfish in vinegar (crunchy and refreshing), string beans (well seasoned), and cumin lamb (get your phones ready when they bring it over to get a photo of the fire). In all, everything is presented beautifully and I’d recommend coming here with many people and try everything banquet style!
This place looks very cozy and fancy,. the dishes are presented very cleanly, and the staff are cordial, but the food was very mundane. Everything besides the duck and cumin lamb was lacking flavor and salt. Everything was cooked well, it's just that the dishes had no flavor whatsoever. The Loofah and okra were tender. The Sauteed Crab Meat barely had any crab and was mixed into a bowl of liquid over rice. It is reminiscent of Mac and Cheese without any cheese. The Braised pork belly in black tea sauce had no tea flavor at all. This restaurant is extremely disappointing given the decorations and the item names on the menu. The Peking duck and cumin lamb were standard good food, nothing spectacular. Presentation is the only thing this restaurant excels at.
The best Chinese restaurant I’ve been to not just in NYC but in the United States! Having grown up in Hong Kong and Taiwan, I notice that food aside, in terms of ambience most Chinese restaurants in the US fall into one of three categories: tacky, no-frills, or gaudy/overpriced. Jiang Nan’s new Manhattan branch is reasonably priced (~$45/person) but has a classy dark interior decor, beautiful tableware, and perhaps the friendliest, most genuine service I’ve experienced anywhere in the US. Food-wise, the 四季豆 and 糖醋排骨 were especially delicious and plated beautifully. The duck was also very nice, with a delicious flavorful soup. The skin could have been a little crispier, but all in all this will be my go-to Chinese restaurant in the city for the foreseeable future!
One of the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Dined in a few times and ordered delivery as well. The food quality is great and the portions both for dine in and delivery were also great. The staff are always super nice and give great recommendations.
A little hidden jewel inside china town. Classic design with some blue music, very cozy atmosphere. The crab meat rice is absolutely amazing! Definitely worthy coming!
The servers weren’t as attentive but the food is bomb! The eel dish is flavorful and aromatic, the roast duck is on track compared to the ones I had in Beijing. Aesthetic dining experience overall
The food were good and the interior design was beautiful. I like the dining experience there and the waiter who was serving our table was very kind and introduce the menu to us dispute we already knew what we were going to order. We got the half roasted duck and it was amazing! We really enjoy our meal there and would definitely come visit again soon. Next time, I’d like to try some cocktails?
Arrived around 5 before the peak dining hours when all tables are booked. Restaurant is warm inside and perhaps too warm as we dined. 爆炒腰花 is featured in a slightly sweet manner and some friends like it. Highly recommend the 花胶汤 and crab rice. Have been to three of them in NJ, Manhattan, and flushing and so far I think this is the best one. So if you have to choose, go for the one in Chinatown.
