The food was good with a fun atmosphere. As stated by other people, the onion rings were on point. My wife’s sirloin was cooked perfectly, however my T-bone was overcooked. The queso was not quite hot enough, however I did not send it back due to hunger. The peach cobbler wasn’t quite cooked fully and wasn’t served warm. I asked the server if it was served hot before I added ice cream on top and she confirmed that it would be, so that’s why I mention it. With the price of the food I would expect the food to be a bit better when it comes to temp. My son’s grilled cheese was very dark and the cheese itself was not fully cooked. Meaning they cooked it on a flat top or a pan that was too hot, personally, I would’ve thrown it away, and re-cooked it before I ever sent that out. I’d probably go 3 1/2 stars if that was an option I really wanted to like this place due to all the wonderful reviews, maybe my food was just the exception.
This piece of history has some of the best Onion rings I have had in a long time. We came in for the Chicken Fried Steak that is great. The steak is tender and moist. The breading is pretty thick, but that's the way they do it. Very happy to enjoy it...
The food and service, great. I got a cheeseburger and it was cooked perfectly, so juicy and delicious. Everything about my experience here was wonderful. The burger had to be one of the BEST in San Antonio, hands down. I'll definitely be back to get another one!!!! Also, the "house fries" are these perfectly seasoned, fried potato slices that pair perfectly with that amazing burger. Love, love, love!!
Josephines offers a unique dining experience. Located in a building from the early 1900s, it sits on the edge of the street. Once you’re inside you will be greeted by a warm and friendly ambience with very open seating. They offer daily specials each day. Our family of five try to variety of dishes including the chop steak, grilled chicken, and pork chops. We done and on the wilted salad which was absolutely amazing, home fries which I highly recommended & onion rings. The service was very good for the entire visit. The prices are very moderate and reasonable. If you were visiting San Antonio, I would highly recommend having a meal at Josephines
Okay, not much to look at from the outside or for that fact the inside but Wow, the food was fantastic! El Ray burger, cheeseburger, liver and onions and the ribeye (a bit to salty) were very very good. We will be back for sure! Happy hour prices and service were exceptional.
I was pretty disappointed with this place. The best part of my meal was the side of mashed potatoes that I got. I ordered a medium-well ribeye and it was definitely well-done. I was not a fan of the green beans, which had more spice than I would have liked. The price for the meal did not match the quality.
Always a great time. Food is incredible! Service is great, good selection of liquor and the prices are very reasonable for the quality and amount you get. Highly recommend it!
First time here and I regret not going sooner. The staff was great. Food was amazing. The space is cozy. Parking was a bit crazy. But all worth it.
