Amazing place at amazing location. Cool vibes, a good get away to spend the evening. Being an Old Soul, I really liked the architecture and the food was delicious with good collection of drinks. Patio looks beautiful with peaceful surroundings. I also liked the drive nearby area. If you like peaceful, calm, and silent environment to spend time, this place is for you for sure. On price point it’s a bit on upwards but experience was good. Definitely recommend.
We visited Lon’s for dinner to celebrate a birthday with a group of three. We started with the happy hour prior to our reservation, our server Liz was fantastic! When we got to our table everything went down hill. We arrived to find our table covered with leaves and seeds, trust me I realize we are dining outside, but we spent 10mins cleaning off our table and chairs while our waiter and hostess watched us. Our server Casey made several distasteful comments throughout our dinner, had several puns about the appetizer we brought to our table from happy hour and really gave us an overall poor experience. We ordered the sea bass, NY strip and spaghetti squash. The sea bass was 3oz in size and tasted fishy, the steak was bland and had no seasoning. While the views are beautiful, I recommend you avoid Lon’s for dinner.
Perfectly cooked New York strip, atop beats, potatoes and asparagus. Delightful dinner paired with a half bottle of a 2018 cab recommended by the wine specialist. The environment is set in an appealing Spanish layout sure to make you feel at home in Arizona. If you're in the Scottsdale or Paradise Valley region of Phoenix I would highly recommend this place.
Our brunch on the patio at LON's was perfection! A fellow Realtor who lives locally invited us there. The setting is beautiful, the service is great and the food (frittata with roasted potatoes) was delicious! We'll definitely return on our next visit to the Phoenix area.
Food always to notch. Shrimp Tacos with a glass of Roederer Estate Sparkling wine this time; an amazing combo! The Huevos Rancheros on the am are one of my favorites. Cappuccino is always excellent. Nice wine program. And of course the patio is the most beautiful anywhere!
Whenever the urge to ‘brunch up without fancying up,’ hits, I head over to a seedy little dive called Hermosa Inn/LON’s, that’s smack dab in the middle of a patchy clunk of mesquite and dust called Paradise Valley. When you’re slumming here, it’s best to leave those elitist Beemer or Bentley behaviors behind. I also recommend rolling up in something high mileage/late model if you’re door ding or high probability car theft averse. Me? I always employ my rough and tumble Toyota FJ when I roll around this part of town. Okay, you caught me! I’ve been slightly disingenuous with you up till now. Sorry about that. THE TRUTH: They say that perfection once blew into PV, stayed at the Hermosa, ate at LON’s, and left feeling inadequate in comparison. Since then, it’s vowed to use the resort/restaurant as a guide for how it can do better. This place is lovely and charming and unique and romantic and totally reminds me of being in Santa Fe. Over many visits throughout the years, I’ve never had a bad meal or a bad experience here. I recently invited my sweetheart to LON’s for her birthday brunch and they took great care of us— and she loved it. When the weather is favorable, you can enjoy a nice drink and meal under the expansive canopy of a 100-year-old Mesquite tree. When the weather is on the chilly side; you know, those random 2 days of fall/winter we get around here, you can warm your bones at one of the cozy fireplaces near the bar. So, when the urge to ‘brunch up without fancying up,’ hits, roll on over to the Hermosa Inn/LON’s. It’s the ultimate way to get your slum on!
The Hermosa Inn is beautiful, and in Lons, we sat by a cozy fire. I had the Huevos Rancheros, which was delicious. A friend had suggested we go there for the Stetson burger, and they were fabulous, as were the fries! Our waiter was a lot of fun!
Food was delicious. We sat outside despite of the heat, but it was still ok under shadow of the trees. The inside all the deco was very nice. I love this place.
