SO GOOD. Went for Saturday brunch and thankfully had a reservation because there was a small wait. Valet is $10 but there’s parking around if you’re ok with walking a block or so. Drinks and food were all amazing!! We ordered multiple drinks, the fried green tomatoes, baked mac and cheese, oxtail omelette and catfish and grits. The fried green tomatoes were my favorite out of everything followed by the catfish and grits. We were seated outside which was really lovely and the live music, though a bit loud at times, was a really nice plus. All the staff was amazing. Will definitely be back again and will be recommending.
Came to celebrate my sisters birthday. Our waiter was amazing that day, Very friendly atmosphere and staff as well. The grits and oxtails was very delicious, the cornbread wasn’t flavorful at all it tasted just like water and bread, the mash potatoes and fried chicken was plated nicely, the greens and mash was AMAZING the fried chicken on the other hand had NO FLAVOR, and we sat right at the entrance of the kitchen and saw the chicken on the bottom of the cabinet about 2inches from the floor so that was a bit disturbing. The drinks were good as well. Overall it was a good night good food besides the water flavored cornbread and flavorless chicken.
I recommend the hot chicken sandwich and oxtail omelette. The chicken in the sandwich was amazing! The glaze they use is definitely delicious and taste fresh. My friend got the French toast and it’s a bit too sweet for me and it has a different taste to it. Not your original French toast for sure. I also got the watermelon sangria. The drink was small and I don’t think it was worth $9. It didn’t have a fresh taste to it either. Overall, the food was amazing and I do recommend coming here!
Great dinner everything was absolutely delicious. Service was a bit slow but I understand there is still a lot of places short staffed including my own business. Cocktails we’re delicious, nice and unique mixers. Octopus appetizer was amazing and our favorite appetizer, biscuits were ok for them being their signature appetizer. Pork and beans main course was overall very good, just lacked a bit of salt. Braised oxtails was just perfect! Overall had a great experience and we see ourselves coming back in the future.
If you’re in the Houston area, definitely check out Lucille’s. I highly highly recommend making a reservation, it gets packed! Parking is mostly street parking and tough to find. They do offer “complimentary” valet service. We did Brunch on a Saturday and loved it. We opted for outdoor patio seating since we had a baby with us. Loved it. It was a beautiful day and their outdoor seating is really nice, they have shaded areas above the tables and also had live music. We ordered the chili bites for our appetizer, definitely a tasty bite size snack! Think chili filling inside some biscuit dough topped with melted cheese and some sort of southwest taco seasoning aioli. Then we ordered the oxtail omelet (really good), croissant French toast with chicken wings (good, croissant was kind of dry, wish it was a little more buttery and soaked a little more in the French toast batter) and the catfish with grits (amazing, love the cornmeal light batter, must order!). Service was great. Our server Scorpio was really sweet. Very personable and kind. Other team members were on top of clearing the table as well. Overall a wonderful experience!
Really good brunch place! If your going on a Saturday, good luck! I advise you to make a reservation if possible, also valet parking is available! The food was phenomenal (well seasoned). You can’t go wrong with the Catfish & Grits!
Lucille's 9/10 ⭐ An excellent southern home/country style dining experience. I had the yardbird which was crispy, succulent and flavorful. My Wife had the Shrimp and Grits that were packed with flavor. We have a couple cocktails and an excellent margarita. Parking is limited, there is a Valet service available. It was a fun experience of wonderful food in a way that would make your grandma smile.
Nice ambiance, fun vibes, contemporary and not stiff. Friendly server with efficient services. Delicious meals. Tips: Valet parking available, though plenty of street parking if you drive around the block. Do RSVP as there is always a wait over the weekend. With each table meal time capped at 1.5 hours, fast service, the wait queue does move relatively fast.
