Luxe hub for Mediterranean tasting menus. Sophisticated restaurant offering Mediterranean tasting menus, plus cocktails & wines.
If we could give this 6 stars we would. Our dining experience was one of the best in our lives. Truly spectacular. The service was superbly attentive, friendly, and caring. The dishes were genius. The cocktail and wine pairings elevated the experience but the food, service, and environment are what make this one of the best restaurants in the US.
If Michelin came to Houston, march would have at least two stars. This is our favorite fine dining restaurant in Houston and we have never had a bad experience. The menu changes seasonally and rotates among various Mediterranean cuisines. The bar program is also top notch.
A for effort. C for execution. March tries HARD to get it right. The idea, the decor, the ambiance are clearly well thought out AND well done. The progression of the dining experience, the menu itself, are well thought out. The wine list is extensive with some fantastic options throughout. However, the execution is lacking where it matters. The food is fine. Most of the dishes were decently executed, but nothing was stunning, and nothing was particularly inventive or interesting. Literally not a single dish shined. The other major miss is the service. The service is clearly not well trained, sloppy at times. Some other minor details also need work, but with the food and service being subpar, nothing else even matters. If March scaled back its ambitions a bit, it would be a perfectly great place with a $125 - $185 range menu that just needed to improve service a bit. But as it is today, and at the $185 - $245 price point, shooting for a 2** experience, it just falls short on the fundamentals. Is it the best Houston has to offer right now? Possibly. But having dined at the majority of starred restaurants in the US, incl. the vast majority of the 2* and 3*s, March very clearly falls short of what it aims to be.
I wanted to like this place so much, but I feel like it’s just a place people go to so they can say they went. No one wants to leave a bad review for a place that was like $800 per person after the tip, but here I am. The waitress was really great and knowledgeable but the food left much to be desired, and we left hungry. After leaving, the 4 of us went next door to La Grange to eat again because none of us were full from the bubbles and cotton candy at March. Cool ceilings though and it was interesting how they move you from place to place inside the restaurant beforehand. If the portions were like 40% larger it would have been great but it truly is crazy to leave hungry after a $3,000+ dinner for 4 people.
Michelin star quality restaurant. Ambiance, service, decor and elegance. Just what Houston was missing. We had the pleasure of having the greek tasting menu with the wine pairings. The food is a work of art and each dish tells a story. Overall an exceptional experience.
Wow! This place was amazing! We did the 6 course tasting, but it ended up at like 9 or 10 because of all the little things you get to eat. Highly recommend the wine pairing too. All the dishes had very unique flavors, and everything was fantastic.
Dinner at the March was exceptional. The service was impeccable, and the menu was delightful. My wife and I were celebrating our 21st anniversary and the staff could not be more attentive. Every facet of the evening was curated with beautiful touches at every stage. The cocktail menu was a highlight for sure, I would most definitely recommend the martini to start off the evening. We will be back without a doubt!
We had a wonderful experience celebrating my brother’s birthday here! Ambience was 10/10. Every dish was superb. Haley took great care of us & all of the employees were so knowledgeable & corteous. One of the best Houston restaurants I’ve been to
