Island-inspired fare & cocktails. The Navy Pier branch of Jimmy Buffet's national chain has an island theme & serves tropical cuisine.
On a hum bug we stopped to eat here as we were pressed for time. It took the host a minute to come to the podium, as we had inquired with another worker that we seen passing by. We were seated and our waitress came and took our drink order. Once she came back, she begun to take our food order needless to say what I wanted which was the coconut shrimp they were out of, instead of her started off with that I took a few more minutes to look over the minute. My husband ordered the jambalaya and I had the egg rolls, fries, and Ceasars salad. When the food came the jambalaya had no shrimp in it, we mentioned it to her and she informed the kitchen. We heard an employee from the kitchen yell "let me get a shrimp skewer". When our waitress brought it out she said "it was a mix up in the kitchen". Seriously, how do you have an item on your menu with a certain food that is advised in it and say it was a mix up. Clearly you could see from the bowl brought out there wasn't one shrimp in that jambalaya. The fries were good, the egg rolls were quite small to me for the price, and the salad dressing was salty. Overall the service was great but the food was just alright especially for $70 bucks. Sorry to say this eatery does not come recommended by me.
I loved this place! 1. Service is so beautiful, people are always smiling and very attentive to you. I went alone and had my lunch over there and it was so nice to see the barman with all that energy preparing cocktails here and there with an authentic simile! What a great lunch experience! 2. You can find salads here, or hamburgers. I had the Chicken Cesar salad and it was delicious! 3. The music and atmosphere is so accurate, at least for me.
If you are looking for having a delicious drinks while you eat, this is the first place to look at in Navy Pier. It was busy here, because all the restaurants in Navy Pier are busy as always. Good thing we got a table but it was 30 to 45 mins wait. Bar Food is good. Our waitress was awesome. I forgot to ask for her name but she was good and attentive.
Waitress was super nice but super slow and they were not very busy and seemed adequately staffed. When she finally came to the table to take our orders after we looked at the menu for a painfully long time, only then did she tell us that they are out of ribs, shrimp, and fish. I had to quickly choose something else so I chose the club sandwich. It was huge so I took half of it home. When I went to eat that half later I saw that the bread was completely burned! Fries were good. Key lime pie saved the day. It’s out of this world. Everyone else at the table seemed to like their food. Someone ordered the steak and it looked delicious. I wish I would have ordered that but it was $27. I paid $53 for a burnt club sandwich and fries, a side of mac and cheese, 2 pieces of pie, and a water. Gratuity is already included in the bill which could explain why there was no urgency on her part. 2 people at our table ordered cake but she only brought one claiming she didn’t hear that they each wanted a piece (which she probably didn’t because it was super loud) and by the time she brought the other piece everyone else at the table was done eating. I didn’t order a drink but 2 people at the table did and said they were good and strong. We had a party of 9 but 6 of us showed up quite a while after the other 3 were seated. It took the waitress forever to bring the bill and then she brought it out as one bill. When we asked her to split it up she said ok and started to walk away. We had to stop her so we could tell her how we wanted it split up. There are SO many options in Chicago I was just expecting a little better. We traveled over 3 hours and thought this would be a fun place. Also it’s located right next to the parking garage which was great but they keep their door open so it was freezing so dress accordingly.
Listen, this is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the world. The staff are awesome, the food is great. The precautions are being followed to a T. It's a great experience. Also, totally recommend getting the light up kids cup -- even if you are an adult!
I had a pleasant lunch at Margaritaville on Navy Pier. I enjoyed the cheeseburger in paradise and fries. Everything tasted great. The staff and service was also good and there was a nice overall environment on the pier. I’d recommend going here for a good lunch on the pier.
Okay restaurant, nothing extraordinary to rave about. In a very busy area of town, the Navy Pier. Burgers are okay. I ordered for appetizers (very small portions btw) onion rings and fried calamari, when they brought it to the table two bite sized pieces fell of the plates and onto their tray, they didn’t even bother to put ‘em back on the plate as they were taking the tray away I asked “excuse me, that’s part of my food”, “sorry I didn’t think you’d want them”, “but I paid for that, why not”. Maybe it was just a fluke as this place was very busy. Go here only if you’re in a hurry or hungry and there’s nothing else around you like.
This is not a place to stop if you're not looking to consume a couple thousand calories. Light options on the menu are practically nonexistent. That said, this place has a huge menu of delicious cocktails and is worth visiting for that alone. Tranquil Waters was my favorite.
