Modern stop for Italian cooking. Airy, light-filled cafe specializing in fresh organic Italian pasta with seasonal ingredients.
This place was delightful! I’ve never been to Italy before but after eating here, I felt like I have. The owner of the restaurant (she’s from Italy) actually took our orders and told us stories of the origins of the different dishes that they serve. We settled on trying several different dishes and appetizers. Some pasta, ravioli, and meatballs were our main dishes and they were all wonderful. Surprisingly, the highlight of the dinner were the fried zucchini blossoms filled with cream cheese. We reluctantly ordered them but the owner insisted we give them a try. We are glad we did! Overall, a wonderful, authentic Italian experience. Not just a restaurant.
What a gem. Seriously, if you love pasta, go! I love to make my own but isn’t it great to taste something from someone who has mastered their skill. The staff are lovey and this place was such a lucky find. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente without having to ask for it. I loved the finishing touches for the truffle pasta which was served in a parmesan bowl. This place is great and I would definitely recommend it if you love pasta!!
Usually small, family run places are incredible. I loved the appetizer special we got (homemade mozzarella rolled with fig, marmalade, and prosciutto). The carbonara was a bit too salty for my liking.
Delicious food, I just love this place, it has a true Italian vibe and taste. You can tell that is authentic Italian, and the fresh pasta is delicious. They have a nice patio outside, perfect for Cali days. Attentive service, friendly staff. Highly recommend.
What a proper place. I went for dinner by myself for a nice Saturday night treat. As a born and raised Italian I can say it is very hard to find truly authentic Italian food in the US, but both the food and the amazing staff of this place made it happen. I got a simple Spaghetti with tomato sauce and burrata, and it was just perfect. The Pinot Grigio wine accompanied just right and it was actually good, real wine. Pasta is freshly home-made and the sauce is just the way it should be. Service is impeccable and the guys even gave me a free dessert. I destroyed everything as you can see. 100% RECOMMENDED
Everything we ordered for dinner was excellent without an exception. Especially, I became a big fan of their spaghetti with truffle sauce. The spaghetti was served al dente, or slightly underdone, with flavorful truffle and cheese cream sauce. Their short rib bolognese ravioli was also good. What a delight to find this restaurant. We would definitely come back when we visit San Diego next!
TL;DR - Italy in San Diego The reviews here won’t lead you astray. Food is delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. Interior space is neither large nor grandiose. I opted to sit outside under the shade of some beautiful trees. I ordered the Casarecce All'arrabbiata on my servers recommendation and it was delicious! Enough heat to slow you down but not enough to stop you. Look forward to coming back.
We ordered the fresh mozzarella salad, the sausage mushroom cream sauce pasta and the lobster bisque pasta….. AMAZING!!!! The service was amazing the pasta and salad was some of of the best I’ve had and I spent 1 month in Italy. The pasta was fresh made and the ingredients were of the highest quality! Definitely worth a try.
