Gourmet burgers & dogs with craft beer. Hopping hipster joint for craft brews, creative burgers & pub grub, plus a hidden speakeasy in back.
Had a great experience at the Neighborhood! Best burger and fries I’ve had in ages, and they were my son’s order! I think a previous reviewer mislabeled a photo of the beet salad as the buratta, so I didn’t order what I thought I did, but it was a lovely and surprisingly filling plate. The cocktail and mock-tail were beautifully crafted.
Bottom line, Neighborhood is a namesake destination if you want delicious food, great cocktails, and chill vibes. Service - The service was good. I would say it was exactly what should be expected. We walked in around 6:45 on a Sunday, it was open seating and not very crowded. Our server came to get our drink order a couple minutes after sitting down. We put in our drink order and they came out reasonably quick. We ordered our entrees and they came out in about 15 minutes. The server checked on us periodically. No complaints. Noise/Sound - The music was perfect. The volume was just high enough to want to dance at the table, but you didn't have to yell over it to have a conversation. The genre was a mix of funky pop and R&B. Food/Taste - I ordered the Young American burger (my new favorite San Diego burger) and my wife ordered the Charred Bone Marrow. Both were outstanding. Flavorful and cooked to perfection. Drinks - My wife ordered a Berry Mix Fizz and I ordered the Old Fashioned (I'm so predictable). Her's was perfect, mine tasted like a run of the mill old fashioned. Not terrible, but as expected. Price - The cost was fair. I'd say they're right on par with what you'd expect (generally speaking) and on par with everything in the area. Will we return to Neighborhood in the future? Definitely. We want to try everything on the menu.
Cozy vibes at this downtown bar and eatery that also doubles as a trendy speakeasy through a hidden entrance in the back. The cocktails are noteworthy but the must-try menu item is the blooming onion. They also serve up other America dishes such as pub food and burgers. Plus you can even get your caviar fix here.
Very aesthetic. Great place to have dinner. Loved their burgers! I’m not a hamburger fan but this one was amazing. The bread was soft and meat was juicy. Will definitely be coming here again.
Went there for a couple drinks (which were delicious!). Our first time there since their remodel and WOW! what a difference from before. The new menu looked awesome, looking forward to trying some stuff, and the atmosphere was so 1920’s and fun! Service with a smile, looking forward to coming back again and maybe getting into the secret bar by the bathrooms:)!
The food was incredible, however it took 20 minutes for someone to put us on a list for a table and after we were sat someone took our drink order but didn't return to bring our drinks for over 30 minutes. Our food came up and we had to ask for our drinks. Very frustrating because the food was soooo good! Other customers beside us had a similar issue so I think it's an organization thing more than just a simple mistake. The servers were all consistently busy but didn't seem to have the staff or the structure to manage all the orders that were coming in.
Fantastic experience. The pierogies were fantastic. Also really enjoyed the beet salad and burrata. Great service, super cool atmosphere
Was in town for the first time and went to this quaint little bar-restaurant. I sat alone at the bar and ordered the Steak Frites abd a beer. This dish was absolutely fantastic. I would call a remixed Poutine. The bartender and manager were both respectful to me and other guests. The bartender was knowledgeable about their menu. Next time I'm in San Diego, I would definitely stop here again.
