Japanese restaurant with lunch specials. Sushi, sashimi & other Japanese fare presented in a comfy setting with Japanese-style woodwork.
Good sashimi and sushi. Waiters are friendly. Restroom is clean. The dining area is quite comfortable and equips with hand sanitizer on each table.
Little Tokyo has become a DTLA hot spot and OOmasa is right in the center of all the action. OOmasa is a great place to take care of that craving for Japanese food.
Love love love this place. With COVID still around and travel restrictions still in place, my girlfriend and I looked to California for vacation. We wanted to check out Japanese Village for a taste of our Japan vacation two years ago. I must say, this please did not let us down. Would come again if in the area.
The food is delicious and the staff are super friendly. All of the Delicious Japanese Foods that we love cooked to perfection. It is in the very busy Japanese Village Marketplace so There may be a short wait before being seated especially if you want to dine indoors. Outdoor seating is available. Very clean restaurant and restroom ?
One of my favorite spots in Little Tokyo and tough to miss. Their nigiri sushi, sashimi, and tempura combination are simply great. Their menu is on the more traditional side so you won't find too many "western"-style rolls other than the basics. It isn't a bad thing though, just don't come expecting a HUGE variety of crazy sounding rolls like some other places. Quality over quantity seems to be the motto here. That's not to say their selection isn't big though. Just a tad smaller than other places. Service for the most part is friendly and prompt. On busy nights the servers are moving fast and talking quick though so be prepared to speak up if you need service. Atmosphere is cozy and traditional-feeling with a lot of Japanese vintage decor. And there is a sushi bar if talking to the sushi chefs is your thing. Pricing is about what you would expect from your average sushi restaurant. It isn't cheap but it isn't ridiculously expensive either. Unfortunately, inflation has hit this place like most restaurants so they are a little more expensive than before but still reasonable. We spent about $55 for 2 people which included a sashimi platter and 2 combo plates.
First time exploring Little Tokyo and I was so happy that we didn't have to wait when we walked in! I ordered 1) Chicken Teriyaki & Tempura and my bf ordered 7) Tonkatsu & Sashimi. The service was fast and I enjoyed my dining experience here!
Old fashioned Japanese cuisine. For Little Tokyo this place is okay. The service is a bit rushed and rough around the edges. Basic sushi and cooked Japanese dishes are adequate and the price is reasonable. They have 2 hour parking validation around the corner on Central Ave (Japanese Village Plaza).
The tonkatsu and salmon belly nigiri I ordered we're delicious. The men who make the sushi are really nice too. The only downside is the service was slow (to be seated, to order, and to get the check).
