Lofty, rustic-modern New American eatery. New American cuisine, cocktails & high design are offered in an airy space next to The Broad museum.
This is one of my all time favorite places. We have been here 5 times in a year and will keep coming back. Everything is worth getting and the menu and cocktails are seasonal so there is always something new to try. The newest brunch addition is great. Brunch is casual, grab a menu, order at the register, then grab your number and a table. They still provide table service for brunch and after brunch, hit up the Broad and a show and come back for dinner!
I had relatively high expectations for Otium - but they were by far exceeded. I made the reservation around 2 months in advance. I have heard a lot about the head chef, and was really excited to eat his food! Everything about my experience at Otium was really wonderful, and the food was amazing! Our server was incredibly helpful and explained everything, and the ambiance of the restaurant is great. I really like the open kitchen, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. We ordered the steak tartare and escargot to start, both of which were 10/10, and the carbonara gnocchi as well as the duck breast alongside the cauliflower. For desserts, we ordered the candy cap mushroom and the passion fruit sorbet. Every single dish we ate was a 10/10, and I would change nothing about any of them. Will definitely be returning to here to try other menu items, but reserving ahead is definitely recommended!
Must have: the naan with chicken liver mousse, squash, and the passion fruit sorbet — some of the cheapest items on the menu. Their more expensive stuff isn’t worth the price. Service was interesting and there are lots of areas for improvement... one person in my party had their dish and utensils taken away while we were still eating; a drink order was forgotten; all the sides came out before the mains did — my party ate each dish as they came out; server’s recommendation for how much to order came out to be too much — there were three of us and we were recommended 6 dishes when 4 would have been plenty (rip wallet).
I came here to celebrate my birthday and it was the right decision. I usually don’t like ordering fish at the restaurant because it’s usually over cooked and can be dry but this place does it right. But my favorite dish here is the naan with the bone marrow sauce. The atmosphere is super nice not too loud. The server was so informative and helpful.
We ordered the Naan, Tomato tart, Spinach Bucatini, Sweet corn Anglioti, Chicken, Pork Chop, smashed potatoes with creme fresh, brocolini and honey and milk for dessert. It was an amazing dining experience. We loved the vibe. Great service and the open kitchen allowed the integrated dining experience. The staff is friendly, service oriented, and knowledgeable about the dishes. We really enjoyed our dining.. we will come back again.
The restaurant is beautiful and is a well oiled machine. The service is amazing and the food is so good. Really creative, decadent dishes. Also they have an incredible wine selection; definitely talk to the Sommelier. We went for the valentine's set tasting menu and it blew us away. I can't wait to come back and try a full menu
They were closed during the pandemic but finally opened. If you’re looking for a restaurant with great interior and great atmosphere, you won’t be disappointed. The menu changes often so don’t rely on the pictures you see on yelp. This place is definitely on the expensive end so if you’re looking for great value, this will not be your choice of restaurant.
Great food with a happening atmosphere and an amazing waiter that helped make the night even better. It wasn't all rosey unfortunately and there were some misses with the food we ordered hence the 4 rating (Google doesn't do half stars or else I'd rank it 4.5 stars) but overall I would highly recommend it. The duck breast was on another level, best I've had hands down. Cocktails were good, my wife's favorite was the liver pate, no surprise there. Dessert was also very unique and amazing. Reservations aren't easy to come by but if you get in, don't pass the chance to go, you'll likely regret it.
