What a great place. Very dark and speakeasy feeling. It was a little confusing knowing that you need to walk through Savoir to get to the restaurant, but that was part of the cool part. Service was awesome, dry aged steaks that’s are top notch and an excellent classic filet. Apps and drinks were also really good. The bread service was so worth it! The beef carpaccio was excellent. Will be back for sure!
If you think a good steakhouse serves Prime steak or better, you will not be happy with Patton's. Their beef is Choice, with a couple of cuts advertised as Prime or Wagyu. I got the "Prime" bone-in ribeye, but based on the distinct lack of marbling I would have guessed that it was actually Choice. The crust was nice—whoever is manning the grill knows what he's doing with this mediocre beef. With my steak I had the bordelaise sauce. I wouldn't have guessed what it was if I hadn't ordered it. More like a demiglace sauce with a splash of wine added. The bread service was advertised as baked in house, but I'd bet the price of my ribeye that the rolls were produced somewhere else. Like HEB Parker House Rolls. Which are good, but they'd obviously been reheated—they had the telltale texture of microwaving or steaming. For sides we had mashed potatoes (which may as well have come from a box) and broccolini (which was tough and otherwise undistinguished). Gave two stars initially, but decided that was unduly harsh, and edited. I look forward to seeing if Patton's can get their act together, but selling a 16-ounce Choice ribeye (their boneless menu offering) for $65 is not going to bring me back.
I never planned on writing a review. I went here for my birthday dinner and the food was flawless. I ordered the New York Strip Steak with creamy corn, mash potatoes and roasted mushrooms. The food deserved a 5 star rating, also the interior design of the restaurant is of high standard.
They deserve four stars, but unfortunately due to miss guided policy and apparent lack of ability they choose to turn away parties of eight, but Six is OK... They charge a minimum of $125 regardless of what you eat. Unfortunately the entrées here average about $60 a glass of wine or a beverage it's around $10-$12 so unless you plan on encouraging yourself you're gonna be charged double for your meal . I feel that this review is necessary as I've eaten here multiple times, and the food is very good. The atmosphere is unique, and the service was wonderful. But I will call out a business that chooses to take advantage of a customer or their party.
It is a steakhouse but it’d be nice having more options than steak. Ordered the Sea Bass and it was highly disappointing. Managed to finish it after asking for lemon, salt & pepper. The seating booths are cute and romantic though
I've been to almost every steak restaurant in Houston, And this place will be a last resort option for me. 3 stars only because the drinks were amazing, but that doesn't make up for the slow service. drinks were slow, food was slow, 1 restroom not often serviced, $12 for bread and butter.... Which would be ok if it came with bells and whistles. I had the filet mignon, broccolini and Caesar salad, absolutely no flavor! I didn't complain, ate my meal and continued with the night. Steak over cooked for filet, broccolini decent, salad was just ok. Ambiance nice, but for the caliber of food and service the prices don't match.
For a place that calls themselves as a “boutique steakhouse” their cuts are select or choice except for the bone in ribeye designated Prime. Plates don’t come out warm/hot, steak knives were dull. Way overpriced for the quality of food served compared to real steakhouses. Their “wagyu” is not real wagyu. Their “house made” bread service are dinner rolls that have clearly been microwaved… the mashed potatoes come from a box. The chimichurri is bland sour oil. This place gets two-stars for the speakeasy feel and cocktails were decent.
So we came here to celebrate my emgagement Atmosphere is private and classy Free valet, just tip Live jazz music was fantastic Service was pretty good but kinda slow for only having like 4 people in resturant but our waiter was very accomadating... they even gave us a free champagne toast at the end Unfortunately, 2 stars is deducted for the quality of food for the price For 3 people we spent $200+ We ordered bread service and wedge which were just ok, ribeye which was good but not the best and the mashed potatoes and mushrooms which were pretty terrible... also the bernaise sauce was not good. I would def come back for drinks and dessert but not for the other food. You have to walk into Savoir and be escorted behind bar to access Pattons and they close by 9:30.
