Modern American fare in a chic venue. Sleek restaurant & cocktail lounge featuring contemporary American cuisine & panoramic city views.
I think my overall experience here could have been better. Don't get me wrong the view of the city is really nice, but in my honest opinion, the food was not that impressive and the service was mediocre. it took a long time for them to bring out our drinks and even longer to take our order. We got the burger which was great but the steak was just bad. I must have gotten a bad cut because it was SO HARD to cut through. The other thing that was super weird was that, when we called for our check, our waitress brought over an "anniversary dessert" even though we hadn't requested anything. But her response to our confusion was "oh, I guess the previous couple must have ordered it- but here you guys can have it". Now thinking about it, I should have known it was weird because if the previous couple ordered the dessert, why would you still give it to us? And she also made it seem like the dessert was free since it was a mistake on her part, but of course it wasn't when we saw it posted on our bill. I think this place aesthetically is beautiful, but the service and food needs more work - especially with its given price point. The other thing i want to add was that we ended up waiting close to an hour for our reservation. We booked a lunch reservation for 1:30pm, didn't get to sit down until 2:30 and didn't get food until 3pm.
Five stars for food, three stars for price. Forgot pictures of the entrees, but everything was amazing. The service is very attentive and the plating of the dishes were clean. Some of the appetizers may come off as a gastronomic. Nonetheless, the taste and flavors were there. The view you get from the peak is definitely included in the price of the menu items. A $20 cocktail here can go for $12 on the ground in my opinion. That said, the dinner does include free admission to the Edge. If admission to the Edge is ever discontinued, I would never come here again. But, this place is a strong potential fit for those looking to show someone around who has a glorified the image of NYC.
As a party of 15 it was a luxurious and fun dinner experience. Fantastic service, a wonderful private dining room, probably the world’s best view, and delicious food and wine. The fresh warm bread was fluffy and out of this world. The scallop appetizer was delicious and cooked to perfection. The sweet potato main could have been better; one potato was grossly undercooked while the other was perfect. The entire party is still talking about the blue cheese filled beets and the potato in cheese side dishes. The dessert was the highlight from a uniqueness perspective. The egg is a thin white chocolate egg with a light mousse inside with a zesty zingy yellow bit made so it looks like an egg yolk. The egg is served on a nest of crispy something or other which makes a heavenly textural combination that’s hard to find and even harder to beat.
Great experience. I can't just talk about the food as it definitely was an experience. The place was a bit hard to find for visitors like us but we managed to get there after multiple escalator and elevator rides. They sat us in a semi private room while being nice didn't allow us to watch the gorgeous sunset from the huge windows looking west. Every person that served us was meticulous and excellent. The food itself was pleasing to look at, tasty to experience and satisfying after the meal was done. Hoping to come back for a sunset special at another point. Bonus point which we didn't know about was we got to visit the Edge as restaurant guests without having tickets. We didn't spend much time there, but it was nice to have the option of checking it out.
We went to the bar for drinks and desserts. I saw some amazing desserts coming out of the window on the way back from the restroom and had to have the egg! Highly recommend! The bees knees was amazing and came with honey comb and baby's breath garish, as well the daiquiri was also delicious. Their presentation, quality and attention to detail is as good as it gets and the views are unbeatable. Our server was also very gracious, friendly and accommodating.
For a quick answer: Absolutely wonderful! The view was great and the food was decent. To get into it more: Initial booking was frustrating. No one was clear with answers, and the person we spoke to wasn't very kind. It in fact does come with access to Edge, although it took multiple times of asking to clarify this. Upon arrival we chose to sit at the lounge due to our early arrival. Lovely atmosphere, and average service. The staff in the restaurant were very kind and helpful. Our server seemed to be a little distracted by a VIP at another table, giving us a little less attention but overall it was okay. Our appetizers were wonderful but our entrees were average. Pricing was high but we understand you are paying more for the view than the meal.
We had a lovely time at Peak on a Wednesday evening. The views were amazing, service was superb (Alfonso is the best server— we’d come back just for him!), and the food/drink was great. It is a little pricey but you’re paying for the views, VIP treatment, thoughtful ambience, and quality food. We started with the milk bread which was delightful, then we ordered the lamb and lobster— also both delicious! Our cocktails were also superb. It’s an added bonus that you get free entry to the Edge to check out the views from outside too! Makes the whole dining experience absolutely worth it.
