Lively American bar & restaurant. Local watering hole with a long bar & dining area serving up microbrews & hearty American eats.
My wife and I were visiting the Baltimore area to visit family. We found Phoenix Upper Main and decided to try it! The food was very delicious and the service was prompt and friendly. My wife got the wedge salad (it was split with our sister-in-law) and I enjoyed the fish and chips. The fish was greasy, but good still. The Bavarian pretzels were great! The beer cheese was so good! It was lunch time when we visited, so the crowd was pretty light. I’m not sure how it gets at night time. Restrooms were also clean and convenient. I would definitely return!
Decided to visit the quaint town of Ellicott City on our weekend getaway to Baltimore. We had beer and a quick lunch at Phoenix Upper Main and really enjoyed it. The beer was good and the Reuben sandwich was one of the best I’ve had!! We chose to sit at the bar but their outdoor area looked so inviting especially on a sunny summer day. Highly recommend a visit to Ellicott City and while you’re there, a beer (or two) and food at this restaurant!!
Food was fresh, fast and good. Service was a slow start - they were busy when we got here because of a festival going on. Once the waitress greeted us it continued to get better. Had their lager - very good. The Banana Xango was delicious and the machines were a favorite. Can't wait to come back and try more!
AMAZING crab dip! At first I was wondering how kettle chips would taste with the crab dip but you will NOT regret it. They make the old bay kettle chips themselves and they are sooooo good. They also gave us more when we asked! Our entrees (french dip + reuben) were good too but honestly we could’ve just had the crab dip for dinner. God it was so good I swear.
The ambiance was amazing! The menu had a lot of selections. I went with The Bear cheesesteak which was pot roast on bread. Kinda sloppy. The carrots were undercooked and there were huge pieces of meat and garlic mixed in. Overall, it wasn't the greatest and was a bit salty for my tastes. I had one of my friends fish tacos and it was pretty good. We ate outside and it was a beautiful day for it!
The food, drinks and service were amazing. my wife loved the Caramel Apple Martini. The beer list is quite large with some amazing options in bottles and cans. Parking is literally right behind the restaurant. We're already planning a return visit.
Finally had a chance to check this place out and the food was amazing. Very well made and good quality. The reason for my 3 stars is because the service was absolutely horrible. Our waiter hardly checked in on us (the restaurant was not busy at all) we never got refills for WATER until we had to call him over to ASK for our checks after being there over an hour. He came to us 2-3 times the entire time we were seated. We visually saw him standing in the corner on his phone or talking to people at the bar the whole time. We paid $3 for a soda and never got a refill. I also found it odd that there were people serving food wearing over sized t shirts and grey sweat pants? Sort of unprofessional in my opinion but I’m not sure what their dress code is. I’ll probably come back again but after that I am very undecided.
Food was excellent i had the blackened chicken sandwich and my wife had a salad and Maryland crab soup. I had their own IPA and my wife had the Captains punch. My only complaint may be there was a musty mop smell but might have been from the Beer tanks. My wife couldn't smell it though. ?
