I couldn't wait for this place to open! Been to the Rock & Brews in El Segundo, CA and was ecstatic to hear we were getting one! The atmosphere is great, the 4 times I've been here the service has been amazing and the food quality is exceptional! Ive had their wings, salmon, burger, bread pudding (ah-mazing!!). I've also heard a lot of good feedback about their Red Fish, which is next on my list. Love that they have music videos playing and the music isn't too loud to where you need to scream, but it's not elevator music either. Great place to bring the family or hang with friends! Also, I love that they are dog friendly, they even have a dog menu!!!! Hopefully they stay consistent!
Rock & Brews San Antonio has a great space out on the patio and it's covered which is nice. Inside has ample sitting and large tables for groups. Multiple screens playing music videos and sports. Service was awesome and I had the Sriracha shrimp which was delicious, the Smoke on the Water drink which is also delicious and the quantity was much bigger than I had realized. And I also got a pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and black olives. Honestly the crust in the cheese was so flavorful I couldn't really taste the toppings so I really didn't even need to add them. Overall it was a great experience.
Went here for a charity event. Staff is still training but did an excellent job. Food and cocktails were awesome. We had the jalapeño poppers and chips and queso for appetizers. My husband and I really enjoyed the poppers, and my young kids liked the chips. I thought the chips were ok. My husband got a drink called smoke on the water, it’s served on dry ice and has a super cool smoky effect. I had the purple haze. Both were really tasty and strong! my Kids loved their raspberry lemonade which is served like a mocktail lemon wedge and a sugar rim. I had the Nashville hot chicken salad. It was topped with the most delicious fried chicken breast in a spicy Nashville sauce. It had crisp romaine, avocado, cheese and tortilla strips in it too. So good. Huge and enough for two people to share honestly. My husband had the Alice cooper burger, he said it was good, and spicy. We all really liked their fries as well. My kids had typical kids meals, and they were happy with them. We had the chocolate little donut ball thingys for desert…they were a little undercooked in the center, but I won’t hold that against them as they are not even open yet and I’m sure they will get those as per effect as everyone else. The atmosphere was cool. A little loud for the kids, next time we go we will get a baby sitter. Perfect vibe for a fun date night. Over all The food was really good and we will definitely be coming back.
Went for happy hour with colleagues. The place is really neat! Extremely attentive waiter even though it seemed he had all the tables in the outside covered bar. The food was really delicious. Ordered the shrimp appetizer. Very reasonable at happy hour. In general, all appetizers were 1/2 price at happy hour. Worth it. Regular prices like the Bavarian pretzel for $16 is outrageous. It is a nifty place overall. I shall return during happy hour.
The atmosphere rocks. I ordered the gastropub burger and bread pudding, both were delicious. Wasn’t expecting great food from a place like this so I was pleasantly surprised. The beer selection is pretty good. Had a pitcher of Hopadillo that hit the spot ??
Lunch was @rockandbrews, open for about 2 weeks. It's situated behind @pluckerswingbar. We initially sat outside but it was windy, making it cold. Thankfully, they have an indoor/outdoor space with strategically placed heaters. For drinks, they have daily specials. I had the Bloody Mary and my husband had a very tall Michelada for $5 each. We started with the Spicy and Sweet Asian Wings. These are good sized and crispy even with the sauce. Best dish! We shared the Fish and Chips and a full rack of Baby Back Ribs. The ribs wasn't consistently tender. Some parts were really good while other parts were pretty dry. There were plenty of ribs and fries leftover. I also had the Pineapple Mojito which was good. There are plenty of TVs to enjoy the rocking videos or your game of choice. This place was very well thought out and we'll be back. Maybe try the pizza next time.
Nice vibe, great music and videos and wall art! My burger was perfectly cooked (I asked for medium rare and it was!) and food and service was top notch. Love this place! Only minor negative is that it’s a bit loud, but we were able to talk over the music and noise (very open single cavernous room) so not that big of a deal…
We had the honor of attending Rock & Brew's soft opening brunch event for the Women's Veterans of San Antonio. Started off with a delicious Shrimp Sriracha appetizer. These were meaty Gulf Shrimp that were fried, seasoned & tossed in their home made sauce. Served atop Garlic Toast, they were awesome! For our entrees, we had the Gastropub Burger and the VIP Nashville Hot Chicken Salad. My burger consisted of Swiss cheese, a sunny-side up egg, Applewood bacon, caramelized onions, greens, tomato, and garlic aioli. Served on a Brioche bun My wife's salad had a sliced and crispy Nashville hot chicken Breast, chopped Romaine, grape tomatoes, red onions, grilled corn, cheese and avocado. Topped with cilantro, tortilla strips and a cilantro lime ranch dressing. Tasty! Do yourself a favor and give Rock & Brews a try. I was really impressed and they do a lot of good things for our military. In fact, that's the reason they built one in Military City, USA. They even have a POW/MIA table set up in honor of our prisoners of war and missing soldiers.
