Sometimes on Google Maps, you have to take scores with a grain of salt. Just like good movies getting a surprisingly low score on Rotten Tomatoes (Space Jam 43%?!?! Jumanji 54%?!?!?! The Greatest Showman 56?!?!?!) sometimes some good restaurants also tend to have a low score here on Google Maps. I wasn't swayed by its current score and decided to give this place a shot anyways and let me tell you, as a Japanese food enthusiast, this place truly can stand on its own and carry its weight even amongst other places with 4.5 stars or above. The sashimi was impeccably served and prepared for us. The bento boxes were plentiful and delicious. The udon soup was pretty decent (I've had better udon but this restaurant doesn't specialize in it so it's ok), and even the garnishes and tempura vegetables were quite delicious. Itadakimasu!
I just love it here! Their Ramen is literally to die for! The sushi is just so delicious and fresh and everyone here is very polite! Highly recommend!!
Takeout sushi was delicious!! Downside is that they don't pay much attention to people waiting to pick up take out orders, and the bright fluorescent lights are less attractive than the ambiance say by other restaurants nearby, but upside is the taste and quality of the food. Good vegetarian options. On the pricier side.
Updating my review for 2023. Originally reviewed several years ago for 4 stars. Now giving it 5. Great food, large quantities, great prices. You will leave full and satisfied! Menu and table/seating arrangements have been updated to accomodate more people. Restrooms include a gender neutral option that is always stocked with toilet paper, soap, waxies, and fragrance spray. Very clean for an LA bathroom.
Best family place in the area. The others have long lines for double the price with horrible service. It may not be glamorous but it is the best sushi restaurant in the village.
Perfect. If they ever relocate I’m coming with them. Parking is terrible. But they take card. It would be really helpful if they had a napkin dispenser. The bathroom also doesn’t have paper towels. Very hardworking and kind staff.
This venue is truly a diamond in disguise. From the friendly welcome, at the door, by Bea, to the other serving staff, Mie and Abby, to the chefs at the sushi station and to the clean up crew, this restaurant is a gem. Please do not be thrown by the humble ambience; after all, not all great things are "nice and shiny". The service is very friendly and kind and efficient. The food is fantastically prepared with care and with excellent ingredients. The prices are very accessible to most and the bathrooms are very clean. If you want to feel like you have gone to visit a friend, consider coming to Sushi & Teri; whether in a group or alone you will be accepted and appreciated for being.
Unfortunately the food is uneventful, we had several dishes and overall the experience was insipid. Although too late for our benefit(we were done eating), a member of our party spotted a dead bug on the floor under one of their shelves in the area between the cash register and their restroom. We were just too embarrassed to say anything. Take care of your business and your customers.
