Kaiseki course that food without over seasoning. Fresh seafood and good quality meats. The appetizers are amazingly delicious. A great place to have good Japanese foods.

Have known of this place for quite a while, but only recently stopped by. The experience I had here was really good! The menu itself is designed to be a set menu, with courses coming out as your table finishes. Each course came out quickly and the service in between was amazing. My tea/water was almost always topped off without me asking and just overall very attentive to our tables needs. So you must be wondering why the 4/5 * (I'd want to do 4.5 if I could).. Unfortunately it's because I found the soup (just water?) used for the shabu had almost no flavor. This became more apparent after we cooked everything in it, and the broth essentially still just tasted like water. This affected part of the course, when they create either a rice porridge or udon soup (udon soup ended up being better). Both came out with minimal flavor and the ponzu was the saving grace of this second to last part. Overall, I think this place is great from top to bottom (especially the apple pie) and I don't mind having a light flavored meal, but I just felt for the price point there could at least be some more to the broth. I don't know maybe I'm just uncouth with how it's supposed to be. I'd def still give this place a try if you haven't had.

Female owned and operated, service & food are excellent. The appetizer and dessert were the main home runs for me. I got a sweet tooth and a thing for small delicious dishes like the monk fish and king crab that are one bite dishes. As for the main entree it's as fresh as it gets, price is for a set meal so it's worth it. You'll definitely feel stuffed by the end even if it looks like not much. The scallops and shrimp are my favorite ?. Also, the creamy scallop on cucumber owner special was a great start to service. ☺️ My only feedback for the soft opening would be to reword the requirements for sharing a set meal.

Great value for delicious and very satisfying keiseki/shabu shabu. Super friendly staff to a person.

Vibe/ambiance: 4 out of 5 Food (quality and taste): 5/5 Service: 5/5 To start, I’ve never been a big shabu shabu fan…but this food and experience was very very good. I highly recommend it. Price is high, but if you’re going to splurge, and you want to try something yummy and different, this is a great place. We had the Kobe meats and crab legs. I could have done without the crab legs. I would recommend sticking with the meat selections. Not the most fancy looking place inside. Not bad either. I rate restaurants on vibe (social vibe and ambiance). So this place was great food, with minimal atmosphere (but still a great choice)

Amazing, incredible, quality dining experience. Akumi Was accommodating polite sweet and truly embodied service with a smile from her heart. Her authenticity to create a warm and loving environment for her guest is absolutely A gift. The food is so good, and creative. I didn’t think that a Shabu experience can be elevated this way with many courses. Would highly recommend

One of the LA's best restaurants and my absolute favorite restaurant. A few things I realized: price increased by around 40% over the past 10 years. The meat was recently changed during the pandemic. A new chef was in place of the owner chef, but I am not sure if it is a permanent change.

Such a disappointment, we paid $425 with no alcohol for 2 people and you expect good food for that price. We had crab so watery, oysters that got sucked into water and do not taste like oysters any more. Then the main menu $195 W5 Japanese’s beef such flavorless. The 1st stater disappointment then came the white fish that was the only thing with some flavor. The 3rd starter was egg something you burn yourself and flavorless. I am leaving 2 starts just because of the deserts and the white fish. We left hangry. If you want good Shabu Ima in BH is the best same price greater place, service and food.
